The sound reproduction on this clip ABSOLUTELY SUCKS ~ ~ but the whole show was AWESOME!!!

Please...chime in if you were there / saw this show in another locale.... 8)

Oh yeah...forgot to mention...

Second song in...."Turn It On Again"....Phil noticed someone in the front row on a call....he motioned to them, like "Give me the phone!"...

...and proceeded to sing INTO THE PHONE:

"I....I....get so lonely when she's not there....I ....I....I - I -I!!!"

- all the while holding the phone out to the audience for the "echo I's"..

....they must've passed out!! LOL

EDIT #3: Last night was RECORDED for a new "LIVE CD"!!!

Uh, that's "In the Cage," tragster, lol.

But thanks for posting the review. I'll be seeing the band at the Hollywood Bowl on October 12 and 13...my 17th and 18th Genesis shows, respectively.

Also, the live recording you speak of is actually a series being done by a company called The Music.com, which produces direct soundboard CDs from each show on the tour. Anyone can buy them from the company's website only...they are not available in traditional retail outlets. You can buy one show, or several, or the entire tour, housed in a custom, numbered limited-edition "road case."

They've also done this for Peter Gabriel, The Who, and Duran Duran.

Here's a link to the Genesis page at the company's website:

Oh.

Well, they DID play a lot of stuff I didn't know, but Mark did....hey, there's 5 years between us....in the early 70s, he was almost a teenager....and I was in Grade School....that's when he started listening to them.

I highly recommend getting some of the older Genesis CDs then...some great music there. Be prepared for progressive rock, though, not the poppy stuff that dominates the last 20 years of the band's history.

Quite a show, eh? I can't wait...

I don't know what it is with all of these older rock bands reforming and touring, but I think it is fantastic. I makes you relive your youth, which for me were great, great times.

Thanks for the post Nora, I'm glad you had a good time.
