Was Journey asked to perform at the Emmy Awards?

You know...for that tribute they had for The Sopranos? I wonder if Perry was asked?

Wouldn't matter.

None of them would've done it.

A. JRNY is on extended hiatus until lead vocals are resolved.

B. SP wouldn't of done it.

Is there anything else to say about it? Guess not.

:(

If what we've heard about the conflict between Steve and the band over the appearance on American Idol this past season is true I would say there's a possibility Steve would have done it. He showed up for quite a few award shows and various events surrounding Monster so he's not opposed to doing the Hollywood thing, and if he had appeared on AI as a guest mentor he most definitely would have been required to sing.

If Steve Perry wanted to appear on AI, he would have done it, period! Why would there be any conflict between him and his former bandmates concerning this? It's usually the other way around, isn't it?

If JSS was still in Journey and they were a functioning band, It wouldn't be hard to see them asking. I'm sure they'd rather have had Perry but since he's a little chickenshit when it comes to singing in public, I think they still might've tried to get the rest of Journey to play the song (especially with a charismatic frontman like JSS)

Obviously this is irrelevant since Journey is obviously run by morons, but I'm sure someone associated with the show at least brought up the idea.

I don't know why there was a conflict, but there was. It was verified on this board by Jeff.

I don't think that was the case. This all took place while JSS was in the band and they were functional.

AI is about singers, not bands. I adore Jeff and loved him in Journey. but why would AI be interested in having any other singer mentor the contestants on the songs that were co-written, sung and made famous by Steve Perry? That really would be a little absurd if you think about it.
