Granted, Journey is nowhere even close to Led Zeppelin status. But even if Journey had 1/100th of Zepp's pull, a reunion gig would rake in millions. According to this article, LZ had 25 million users hit their website to pay $250 a seat for their upcoming reunion show. Hypothetically, if they could accomodate everyone of them, they're looking at $6.25 billion. Do the math. It's staggering. And that's just the gate. No telling how much swag sales could generate.

Led Zeppelin fans have been urged to "be patient" following the staggering demand for tickets to see the rockers reunite.

The deadline to register for the ticket ballot was supposed to close on Monday, but organizers have now given fans an extra two days to apply for tickets after 25 million people attempted to gain access to the official website on Sunday.

The band revealed last week plans to reform for a special tribute concert for late music mogul Ahmet Ertegun, 27 years after they split.

Promoter Harvey Goldsmith says: "We urge people to be patient and to remember this is a ballot system and that all registrations will have equal standing regardless if they register first or last."

The news of Led Zeppelin's reunion caused the concert's official website to crash minutes after opening on September 12, as fans scrambled to register for one of the 18,000 tickets made available for the gig at London's O2 Arena on November 26.

Tickets are priced at $250 and are limited to two per person. The ballot will now be conducted after registration for the gig closes on Wednesday.

I think it would make waves in the media because of increased attention to Journey in the last few years from the use of DSB in various things; I'm not sure if that would translate to selling thousands of tickets at Zep-ish prices.

I think if the tickets were reasonable (like, under $100), they'd sell out arenas all over the place.

Everytime I see someone say that Journey w/Espee would play stadiums I laugh hysterically. Unless your the Rolling Stones you don't play stadiums in the United States in the year 2007.

And it's a one trick pony. A 2nd tour would not sellout at all.

VH pulled their lame reunion shit 4 years ago, and it was horrible. I walked out. Terrible show, terrible showmanship. Sammy tried, but he was up there with rehabbers.

My guess is that Journey would be playing similar venues as VH. That is, 15-20 thousand seaters. If they teamed up with Bon Jovi, who is still a huge draw, they COULD play a few small stadiums...say 30-40 thousand seaters. I don't care if they play on Letterman as long as I get to see Steve Perry rejoin the band. Quit being a pussy.

Why would the labels care? Even a new Journey album with Perry would be largely ignored, just like every other geezer act. Bruce has a large die-hard fan-base that will eat up his new LP the first week, after that, no one will care. The Stones, McCartney, Elton...these guys are huge, and no one cares what they do, even if its good.


The promoters, however, would shit themselves.

If they had capitalized on the Sopranos thing and done a show and CD to be released with Perry immediately after the airing they probably would have been on a level with U2 or Bruce. They didn't though, so that ship has sailed without them.

But even if they had begged Perry to bail them out I couldn't blame him for not wanting anything to do with the assholes that have dragged the Journey name through the tractor ruts for the last 10 years.

I used to be one of the biggest NealNuts out there...

..but these days I'd shell out $25 at most to see Neal solo, $75 at most for Journey.

I'd drop $500 in an instant to see Perry in any capacity.

NIG you are so wrong. I agree with Deano and Calif would be stadium dates. I'd pay $ 300.00 to sit in the last seat 1/4 mile away. Monker is, as usual, always negative and flat out wrong 97% of the time.
