I'm actually with SJ on this one. One of my thoughts (not that I believe it's going to happen, because I don't) is that Perry doing something, anything, now could finally kill this s(t)inking ship. Not returning to Journey - no, fuck that. I don't even want to see that (but god, you wouldn't be able to tear your eyes away - like a 5 car pile up in the making!). The fact is, no matter how many times that man opens his trap and says "I have not been with the band since May of 1998..." - he is STILL the one they run to - not the current band - when they want quotes and comments about anything related to Journey in the media... when the DSB business happened in June, I saw one comment by Cain, one interview with Neal, and about 7 or 8 with Perry.

If he were to pull any kind of comeback now, (IF - I said "if") Schon and Cain would be left standing in the middle of tumbleweeds staring at each other. Actually a few reporters would probably come sniffing around the two of them with questions like "Now that Steve Perry is doing this, that or the other again, is there any chance of a reunion?" - but that's about it.
