If Journey had any marketing sense...

they would make an announcement on their new lead singer this week, show up in South Bend performing a killer set, and invite JSS up for a few songs after making a public apology.

JSS would also have the opportunity to again confirm he is the class act already demonstrated time and time again, by accepting the apology.

I know it would never happen...just a thought. Ok...I admit...I thought of this after a few cocktails.

Have fun in SB everyone and "break a leg" Andrew! Sorry I can't be there and meet a few of you characters.

I remeber seeing the Soprano's publicity and thinking damn, you can't pay for any better publicity than that... next day they fire JSS and pull down their website.

Missed opportunuities galore!

No marketing or sense at all in the JRNY camp.

There isn't a snowball chance in hell of Journey showing up at the MR show. It is nice to dream tho isn't it?

As for Journey having any marketing sense, didn't you know they have no sense at all about anything? !!

Lol! They really don't seem to have even common sense!

& I don’t think they’d have the balls to show up at SB after what they did to JSS, who is probably the main draw for the show among JRNY's own fans.

I think if Neal schon or his twinkletoad fuckwad keyboardist showed up in Indiana this weekend, they might be putting their lives in danger. I for one, would love to see one of them on the receiving end of a few left hooks. You couldn't BUY that kind of entertainment....

and it would seal the deal for next year's south bend...I can see it now..."Come see Scrap Metal and some yet to be named, has-been rock star get his ass kicked!"

:P

Can you imagine them putting the website back up? Back Talk? C'mon, who's going to manage/police that thing? The problem isn't really that they fired Jeff. It's how they did it and why...and to a guy that they themselves said, not two months earlier, that were excited about writing new material with...fans loved him, high-energy, reminded them of the "Perry era", etc. Everyone liked Steve Augeri and was sad to see him go but, people could pretty much understand it. Then, in comes Jeff who injected some serious adrenaline into those guys and fans fell in love with him right away. Then they wipe their asses with him for no reason. Nobody can even comprehend that kind of screwed up logic.

I can't imagine them putting Back Talk back up. In light of everything that is known, that will be a major shitstorm.

But my god, it would be worth paying for! Yeah... Journey show up at the MR show...
STEVE PERRY will be there before Journey would.

Marketing will never be a strong point for this lot.
"Hey we got a new album out... what's the best way to get people to buy it? Oh I know, let's give it away FREE at the shows! That will make money!"

And people are still using them as coasters, while at the same time paying $12 each for the remasters of the old ones.
So who's the marketing wizard in the kingdom of Journey? Hint: not a current member.
