Listen to this. Is it just me is Jeff's voice a dead-ringer for Paul Stanley on this one. Close your eyes and you won't be able to tell the difference.

BTW, Jeff sounding like Paul Stanley is meant to be a compliment. Paul is one of the greatest voices, EVER, in rock 'n' roll.

WOW LAZZ!! ive often thought this exact same thing!!..... and there is a song off of Talisman 7 called "On my Way" that reminds me of paul stanley as well... that particular song has an "Only the Young" vibe too...

there are a handful of Soto tunes that sorta remind me of other artists....

..good call !!!

As a vocalist Paul Stanley isn't fit to lick Jeff's nutsack (as much as he would probably like to)! Not even in the same league, literally Ozzy vs Dio! In my opinion of course.

Seriously though he wasn't too shabby playing the lead role in Phantom of the Opera a few years back...Interestingly rock vocalist Matt Barlow is often accused of doing an unconscious impersonation of Paul when he sings so he has obviously influenced many talents.

I appreciate your opinion but, I couldn't disagree with you more. Vocally, I've heard it said many times by his peers, he is one of the best, most well-respected singers and front men in rock 'n' roll. To put anybody in the same company as Paul Stanley is a huge compliment.

I disagree as well...both have amazing voices and while there might be a slight tibre similarity on certain notes....they're not the same.

As much as I think Jeff has this amazing ability to mimic other's singing voices, I think he's about as unique as anyone out there. Once I got to know and apreciate Jeff's voice, I can pick his voice out of anything...it's so recognizable. As is Stanley's...they're just different.

Once you start recognizing those certain things in Jeff's Timbre, it's almost impossible to compare him to anyone else. The guy's a fucking vocal god...he's as unique as Perry.

As soon as you get familiar with any singing voice it starts to sound unique. You could equally say that Johnny Rotten is as unique as Perry. In fact, he definitely is. It doesn't follow that he's as much of "vocal god" though does it?

Mathew, point of correction, just so I can stop the arguement of a point that isn't really there...

If you read above again, I didn't say that being unique was the only qualifier of being a "vocal god"...I merely made the statement about JSS after saying an *independent* statement that he is unique.

Johnny Rotten may be unique, but he doesn't fucking sing. You could make the same comparison about Kurt Cobain or Cookie monster....just because you can pick someones voice out of a crowd, doesn't mean its good. But in JSS's case, it most certainly does.

If at all possible...Lets try to only argue about the stuff that really matters....

I said the same thing yesterday - I realized when I listen to Jeff, I listen for the voice. It's hard to explain, but it was the same way with Perry - didn't care what he sang because the voice made everything enjoyable. Jeff is the same way - I wish I had the musical background to describe it better

Fair enough, Strangegrey. I just misunderstood your point - as opposed to just starting up a fight for the hell of it. This time anyway. :)

Have to disagree on this one. As many times as I've heard this song, I never thought he sounded remotely like Paul Stanley....not that Paul can't sing, but he's certainly not in Jeff's league vocally.
