Just because Andy wants to make a new Police album doesn't really have anything to do with it actually happening.

If Sting had made the same comments I might believe it though...as much as I love Andy and Stewart (and find them much more interesting as musicians), they're not going to make a record unless Sting decides to write a dozen songs for it.

Totally agreed.
I'm gonna add if they're going to do it in the same vein as last Sting solo records it would ruin their career. I can't imagine The Police with songs a-la Desert Rose.

"Desert Rose" is a good tune. Not very Police-ish, though.

Right. I'm not gonna dissect every solo Sting-era, but my personal opinion is Sting's best efforts were right after his Police demise. The Dream of the Blue Turtles is a masterpiece, Nothing like the Sun is high and lows, The Sould Cages is a good record, Ten Summoner's Tales another very good one, then his records were more and more pop-soul oriented. Always good music, but not outstanding like he did.
Bring on the Night was Sting at his peak
Always IMHO.

Well if The Police do decide to make a new album, don't let Sting write any of the new songs:

Yeah, and they put Neal Peart #2 on that list. Sounds like they just don't like anyone that doesn't write your standard love songs.
