HEART-Dreamboat Annie Live-IS INCREDIBLE
This is one of the most perfect performances I've ever seen by any artist.

Even if you only like Heart a little bit, you will LOVE this DVD.

Get it. It's AMAZING.

Not only do they play the entire "Dreamboat Annie" album in sequence, but they also add great covers of Pink Floyd (Goodbye Blue Sky), Zeppelin (Black Dog, Misty Mt. Hop) and the Who (Love Reign O'er Me).

I'm listening to it now. Don't know about perfect though. The guitar player flubs the beginning of Magic Man pretty bad. Ann's voice on the other hand sounds extraordinary. Sounds like it hasn't aged at all. I haven't been impressed by the lead guitar playing since Howard Leese and Roger Fisher left. Other than that it sounds pretty damn good so far!

Yeah JrnyScarab, I agree. That's Craig Bartok who produced their last studio album and he's not the greatest guitarist, but he does okay, and I think he tries to give it something different.

It would have fuckin' rocked to have had the original band there, but I guess there's too much water under those bridges.

JohnnyMohawk, I loved the covers too, Love Reign O'er Me was incredible and Ann's voice was superb. That string section was rockin'.

I listened to the whole thing at work today. Gotta say that Ann sure rips it up! The extra songs kick ass. If I seem picky about the guitar part it's because I play guitar myself. Stuck out like a sore thumb. My wife also went Ewwww! when she heard it. I can't say that I like the idea of a band making the performance perfect through overdubs after the fact, but being the first song it kind of set the tone in a bad way. They should have fixed it.

There is also some sloppy drumming at times. Almost seems like they hire less than stellar musicians to back them at times. I much preferred when the were actually a "band".

I will definitely get this. I love Heart. Ann is my second favorite singer after Perry.

Just saw a Honda minivan commercial with the original music, no vocals, to Barracuda playing the background. A minivan is not exactly the image I had in mind in the past when I heard that song. :?
