That is sad...after 34 years you would think they could work it out.

I didn't think Neal and Carlos exactly got along? Didn't Carlos have something to do with Neal not being a part of the HOF induction ceremonies? I would have thought a guy so instrumental (pardon the pun) in Santana's most famous songs should have been acknowledged at least.

Neal played on what, "Abraxas", "Santana III", and "Caravanserai"? I know he was on "Abraxas" even though he was not credited.

Anytime the pupil outshines the teacher there is gonna be resentment. Only recently have I even heard of them being on speaking terms. If I'm not mistaken, Carlos recently commented at an event at how he was astounded while watching Neal play.

I am sure they are not the tightest of friends, but I think they are on speaking terms. I know Neal, Rolie and other past members, joined Santana for some kind of reunion in the late 80s. Maybe a 20year reunion or something. I have an old VHS called "Viva Santana" with live clips of this reunion on it.
Man that tape is about 20 years old now - jeez does time fly.
Neal on Abraxas?

Neal played on Abraxas? I don't own that one... which songs did he play on? On Santana III, you can clearly hear Neal in one speaker and Carlos in the other... any similar clues on Abraxas that would indicate which he played on, even if not credited?

I have no idea, really. I read that somewhere but I haven't listened closely enough to the songs to be able to tell.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression it was the HOF who denied Neal induction, because he wasn't a founding member of the original band (or something to that effect). Then again, wasn't Van Halen inducted with Sammy Hagar? So who knows... Maybe Andrew has the answer to this one.

Maybe Hagar was a current member?
Neal was neither founding or current memeber so maybe HOF excluded him.
ACK
I bet each of them have skeletons in their closets...

Not sure exactly either, but I do know that Neal played lead on several Santana tracks in his early years with the band and was never credited for them...bad Carlos.
