True. However, they should have stopped and fix the goddamned problem instead of carrying on like that.
I'm sure the audience would have been ok with that.Shit happens in live shows sometimes,no big deal.

Something similar (but worse) happened when I saw Bad English (Seattle in 1989 or 90). They started the concert, and Neal's amp and a couple of mics were out. They just kept going - no guitar and missing backing vocals - for 4 songs or so until it got fixed. It really sucked.
At Mountain Aire in 1986 (best concert ever), Jon's guitar died on Stone in Love or one of those songs that he plays guitar on, so after yelling at the tech for a bit, he just gave up and played his part on the piano. It was actually pretty cool.

Frankly as a sound company owner we have so many people who simply aare shit at the work and shouldn't be working in the business, this problem should have been detected at soundcheck and resolved then!

With that said, what I had read (and I can't remember where I read this at) is that it actually wasn't the guitar that was the problem, it was the taped keyboards. Apparently when they started playing the recorded keyboard parts, they were actually at a higher pitch than what they were suposed to have been at, while Eddie's guitar was tuned closer to what it should've been tuned at. Of course, according to the youtube videos, it does appear to be the other way around. But ya know, being there at the concert...it was still awesome and one of the best concerts I have ever attended!

After reading the comments on the link earlier in the thread it looks more like it was a problem with the guitar and that Eddie may have knocked it out of tune.
