Does look good, but Fox announced today that there will be no 24 this season because of the writer's strike. They took it off their winter schedule. It's possible it could return, but it doesn't look good at this point.

Return of Fox's '24' Postponed by Strike
By FRAZIER MOORE – 5 hours ago

NEW YORK (AP) — The writers strike has struck down the Fox thriller "24."

"24" is absent from the network's revised, strike-affected schedule for midseason. In its announcement, Fox explained the "Day 7" season for the series would be indefinitely postponed to ensure an uninterrupted run.

Like most series written by members of the Writers Guild of America, "24" is falling prey to a shortfall of scripts. But the heavily sequential, real-time "24" is dependent on a full-season run of 24 episodes.

Fox's revised schedule also calls for "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" to have a two-night premiere Jan. 13-14. The new drama, a reinvention of the "Terminator" film franchise, stars Lena Headey.

"American Idol" returns Jan. 15-16. A new game show, "The Moment of Truth," premieres Jan. 23.

Looking further ahead, "New Amsterdam," a drama about a New York City detective who is immortal, premieres in February.

The Farrelly Brothers comedy "Unhitched" premieres in March, as does an unscripted, role-reversal series, "When Women Rule the World," and a comedy from "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, "The Return of Jezebel James."

"Canterbury's Law," a legal drama starring Julianna Margulies, arrives in April.

Fox stressed that its revised schedule, announced Wednesday, was subject to further change, if strike developments warrant. WGA writers went on strike Monday, with no end in sight to their dispute with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

The announcement by Fox was likely intended, in part, to make clear that it has fresh programming — in the form of new series — on deck, despite forecasts of rerun-beset lineups looming as the season wears on. That was unlikely to console "24" fans awaiting the next 24-hour marathon of crises for put-upon hero Jack Bauer.

You're joking....I've just burned through 6 Box Sets and was all set for 7 in the New Year.

What do we think of Almeida as a bad guy though? And does anyone know if the legendary Powers Boothe is starring in it again?

He kind of went off the deep end before, but Jack got him out of it pretty quickly. I'm sure he's turned because his beloved Michelle was killed.

Yes - and he might think that Bauer was indirectly responsible for Michelle's death. But from the trailer I saw Tony also had it in for the FBI...

It's possible that Almeida has been brain washed though, isn't it?

WHAT?? Damnit.....go figure, that's the only tv show I make a point of watching!

LOL Matt, I watched season 3 on tv and was hooked, so I borrowed a friend's season 1 and 2 and burned through them too. Wasn't happy with last year's too much, but from the trailer it looks like they are going back to the great formula of the first few seasons. :D

Don't get much cooler than Keifer, severely underrated actor. Image

I hope that they remembered to pay the power company this time around though!

Each season the show has been getting progressively darker and darker (not in a good way!) to the extreme that I could barely even see anything last season. :x Why do TV show/movie makers keep doing this for those horror/action things? It only adds to the frustration (not the anticipation, damn it!) of the viewer. Damn, I felt like I was blinded last season.

Deb - I'm with you all the way on that. I thought Series 5 was the best since the first one...but it all went wrong with Series 6 - Wayne as President? I think not! - although I loved Powers Boothe and that weasly guy from Ally MacBeal. But they're right to get rid of CTU now ...I think every possible scenario was played out there wasn't it? At least ten times. :)

Well that just stinks. I would have thought that the whole season would be in the can by now...

That's what I would have thought too, but on one of those entertainment shows they were talking to Keifer about having to postpone filming for a day or 2 around the Southern Cali fires. So they were still filming as recently as that.

Actually I'd rather see them postpone it if they have to and air it all back to back like last year instead of like they did the year or 2 before where they broke it up showing half a season then a break of a few months then the other half of the season. :?

I wonder if Kiefer will change the days he has to go to jail now so he doesn't have to be there over Christmas. He was going to go then so he wouldn't shut down production of 24.

Yeah... the boy is gentle on the eyes...

I am a 24 NUT!!!
I got to met Keifer last year. He started a record label and did an appearance in Baltimore with the first artist he signed Rocco Dulucca. He was a SUPER NICE GUY,and didn't mind taking any pictures or signing anything for the fans. A lot of people brought their Lost Boys DVD's and he said that he held that movie in high regard.
My band actually did a gig with Rocco last summer in Baltimore and if you get a chance check him out. GREAT bluesy guitar playing.

My thought too. This is actually a good break for Kiefer Sutherland. Now he has the time to go do his DUI jail time and community service without disrupting production. He should take advantage of the writer's strike and go pay his debts.

later~

Nevertheless, this really sucks... this concerns me for the future of the show after the crap that was season 6. Here's to hoping Prison Break can at least finish

That's great Mike, you've met some pretty cool people! :) I read somewhere that they are working on the second Lost Boys. Not sure if Keifer, or whoever else, is back........all I read was that that weird Cory is in it.

The 2nd Lost Boys is in the can. I think only Corey Feldman is returning. Or he is the only one talking about the movie....I believe it is a straight to video release though.

Tony was my favorite next to Bauer... so having him be evil is gonna kick ass. oooh, maybe I'll see Tony on Monday! Oooh...

My son PMed me earlier today, and I quote (regarding the filming notice): "Please, for the love of Jack and Tony's unborn love child... save that notice for me..." Yeah..he's just a bit of a 24 geek.
