I know, it ain't happening, like Elvis returning from the dead, but if it did...
If Perry rejoined Journey, what are the chances of him singing any of the songs from Arrival or Generations? What about Remember Me?

If he were able to make them his own, like in being able to adapt them to his voice and feel good about them, I see no reason why he wouldn't.

He has a legendary catalog that was a pertinent part of people's lives. Why sing obscure, non-hits from a soundalike?

Nothing Journey-related that Perry has touched has included anything after (or before) his era. I imagine that would include *IF* he were to tour with the band.
Of course, by the sound of it, the post-Perry era is going to be ignored by the band as it continues anyway...

Why the fuck would SP sing that god damn BUTTERFLY song.
Why are we going through this anyway. SP will NEVER be back with JRNY.
Although I would love to SP back and that's the only way those fuckers will get a dime of my money from now on (other than hiring Jeremey).

Less than Zero.

Can I PM you with my home address so that you might drop off some of whatever you are on?

I honestly do not believe that Perry would be willing to sing any of the Augeri songs.
Plus, with as many hit's as they had with Perry I doubt that the band would choose to do any of the Augeri songs.
If Perry were to rejoin Journey (which I know will not happen) I would like to hear him do one or two of the Augeri songs, but I don't think it would happen.

Actually, Perry did perform some of the original pre-Perry Journey songs after he joined the band. He used to do "On A Saturday Night" as a duet with Rolie when they performed the song live.

Journey rarely performed the Augeri era songs when Augeri was in the band. I can't imagine Perry agreeing to sing them.

I can't even imagine... in situations like that, it's not very common. I think David Lee Roth is only singing Roth-era tunes on the VH tour (correct me if I'm wrong), and the reunited ASIA won't be doing any John Payne-era ASIA songs. I would never imagine Perry singing Augeri songs, though there are many good ones.

I would be more likely that I would be the new lead singer of Journey before Perry would sing Augeri-era Journey stuff.

I think I speak for us all when I say we would be happy to hear him sing anything live. Even Augeri tunes, right Loons?

There's no way. True, he did sing sing one or two pre-Infinity songs, (and I loved On A Saturday Night!) but you have to remember, with a new singer and just one album
with that singer, it doesn't leave a lot for a full set list, even for an opening act, unless they were to sing
just Infinity from beginning to end. Once Evolution came out, he didn't do that anymore. The band played the instrumentals up to around 1980 or so, but that was all.
In this pipe dream world where Perry is rejoining Journey, would he sing Augeri-era stuff? Not a chance in hell. If he ever wanted to pull up stuff outside the dirty dozen, there's
plenty of obscure stuff from his
own tenure with Journey that's never or rarely been done live. He doesn't need to raid Augeri's toy box.
My question is if Augeri ever plays live again, either solo or with a band, is
HE going to pull out any Augeri-era stuff.

If I knew in advance that he would be singing Generations in its entirety, I'd pass. Red 13 too. Arrival I'd pay to hear him sing...barely.

Look at Van Halen; are there any Hagar era songs played?
Nope.
But we can stop the speculation; Perry will never go on tour with Journey again. Period.

Not true. I have a few boots from the Evolution tour where they did "On A Saturday Night", "(She Makes Me) Feel Alright" and "Next" with Perry and Rolie sharing leads.

I would welcome Perry singing anything. The chances that he would sing any new songs? less than zero as andrew indicated.
But, I would still pay big money to see him sing anything.....except any song off of that piece of shit, poor excuse for a carefully executed far, Dead 13.
The songs on that shit CD are some of the worst I've heard...and I'm not talking from Journey....but from anyone...including any 2-bit hack original band filled with 13 year olds playing somewhere here on long island.
Unfortunately, I hold TBF in equal regard....and the chances of them performing multiple snoozers off of TBF if they ever toured again, are quite high.

I do stand humbly corrected.

Thanks for clarifying. Okay, so for one year from 78-79 he did it. The still-valid point I was making was you didn't hear that going on once they had a decent-sized library established with Perry. And on whatever planet he rejoins Journey (because it ain't this one!) he sure as shit wouldn't be singing any Augeri songs, and it's probably a real good bet he wouldn't be doing anything pre-1978 either.
