did you type it right? .plis+ ? not .plus+ ?

Please check the properties of the file, it may say what created it.

Nora emailed it to me, and it was only 4kb long. The extension was plist. It was associated with Quicktime and was a Mac file. I opened it with Wordpad, and it was text based in nature. I think it's supposed to direct Quicktime to play it from somewhere on the internet, but I couldn't decipher where.

When I tried to open it with Quicktime, it just gave me an error message.

I don't know if you have a mac or a PC. If you have a mac, you can try this program to steal the audio from:

http://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijack/

If you have a PC, look for a comparable program on the web. Or you can just rip the DVD then convert it into a different format off the rip.

Hope that helps-

If that's the case, then the audio hijack program is absolutely your savior. It won't retain the video, just the audio. What it does is it records playback from a given program and saves the recording as an .aiff file. You can convert that into an mp3 or anything else from there. Again, assuming you're running a mac that is... :)

IMO,the original has a unique feeling to it...Too bad it was maybe overplayed or maybe ridiculed to many times. However, nothing can kill it's beauty.
This '83 version certainly has more power to it,considering that SP changed his overall delivery at the time.If you're more into that vocal style, then I can understand why you would prefer this version over the original. :)

It was the one you sent me...and I just realized that I didn't "run it by you" first, BEFORE going on and on about it...sorry....

Thankyouthankyouthankyou Gunbot for putting this perfomance up for me!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D

This is SUCH a unique performance....the "darkness" of tone & sorrow in his voice.....the force of the phrases "Wanting to hold you.....WANTING you near" ~ like he's demanding it....no "light falsetto" to be found ANYwhere....

He looks upset in this song....voice breaking; looks like tears in his eyes....wow.......

SP was most always better live.

I agree with Laura on this. Some people prefer the live versions over the studio recorded, because you can "see" the emotion and power in SP's presentation. However, I love both. There is something about listening to the record in the dark or with your eyes closed, totally being swept away by the beauty of the lyrics and pitch-perfect tone of his voice. Yes, it's cheesy, but oh, so sensual a song.

For me, Perry suffered from "Samsonitis". He cut his hair, and his voice lowered.

I much prefer the pre '83 Perry. The hair, the high voice... He seemed much more than just a mere singer.

Starting in 83, with the image and vocal change, it was never the same for me.

I liken it to when I read comic books as a kid. You would get a copy of Fantastic Four, and the Thing has been drawn by a different artist. Same character, but not the one I grew to love in the "old days".

I'd forgotten how beautiful that was.

Rubicon and Separate Ways are my favorites from the Budokan concert. 8)
