He can sing anything. I really like Steve Perry, but could he sing what Arnel does? No way. Alone by Heart? Nope.

I am not trying to insult you great fans of the band Journey. You will find out how lucky you are to have Arnel. He is so wonderful. Steve Perry was great too but this is going to be so great having Arnel. Please say hello at one of the shows.

You presume a lot. What makes you think anyone here will attend a Journey show after the recent fiascoes? Nothing against Arnel, I hope he does well.

BTW Chloe, don't come here and bash one of the most prominent posters of this board. Even though AR and Andrew are at odds, doesn't give you carte blanche to bash AR.

I know you don't know the in's and out's of this board, but that is of no matter.

Try taking a less invasive/abrasive approach, you'll last longer.

Arnel can sing the songs, yes, absolutely, but he can't give it the kind of soul and emotion it's originator gave it.
He can do an impression. And he cannot do it BETTER than Perry.

I agree that Arnel can sing anything but I still like Steve Perry's voice best when it comes to Journey songs. Now if Arnel were to go on and write his OWN new songs with Journey then I might be able to compare them to Steve's older stuff, but he's got a long way to go.

So you support AP, leave it at that.

Post counts mean nothing. Why do you think I am "baiting"? I have read this site for years. Bullies like Deano, AR, ChiefMac and others have always made me stay away. Now that they are gone, I think it is for the best. I just like Arnel and am a big fan.

Nothing wrong with liking Arnel, I like him too but to say he's better than Steve Perry is like saying Ashlee Simpson sings better than Celine Dion. You can't compare an imitator to the original. Steve is a legend in his own right not only because he WROTE the songs but he sang them with passion and emotion.
