Great list but I'd add "You Better Wait" and "Missing You." Why have control if you can't get the perks?

Great list! But I'd replace Who's Crying Now and Open Arms with Easy to Fall and Captured by the Moment.

Considering DSB has netted them the most money and is FAR AND AWAY their most popular song, you better redo that list and put it on there.

Perry Unplugged? Wow, this could take awhile!
What a cool idea that would be though!

I'm probably in the minority but NO Open Arms, Faithfully...
I'd rather hear the unusual stuff that and maybe stuff never got any (or much) stage time.
There are of course a few musts...

Stay Awhile
Daydream
Still She Cries
Winds of March
La Do Da
Patiently
Walks Like A Lady
Stone In Love (omg... unplugged!? that would kick ass!)
Happy To Give
Liberty (which is kind of unplugged anyway... but still I like it!)

and they'd totally have to pull out On A Saturday Night again. :D

You mean something that isn't the DD? What a concept. I like it, but would add Loving you is Easy.

I posted what they would PROBABLY play. Obscure shit like "Little Girl" "Good Morning Girl" "Winds Of March" "La Do Da" and others have ZERO chance of being played were this to happen, so I elected not to waste key strokes.

The unplugged sessions I have seen generally include some of the more obscure tunes, so I wouldn't necessarily say they would have ZERO chance of being played.

The word "shit" in my post meant "stuff." I should've said "obscure stuff" rather than "obscure shit." At any rate, I doubt Perry would ever sing a song that wasn't his. Isn't that a Fleischman song?

I see what you're saying regarding stuff. But he sang WOM before...and he should feel its as much his as RF's, and that thinking would rule out his re-recording Faithfully.

Faithfully was never performed before SP performed it...to the best of my knowledge. So as much as the lyrics may have been Cain's, SP was a MAJOR factor in arranging how those words were emoted and I'd bet my pancreas that the words were touched up a bit. Winds Of March is so fucking boring for the first two minutes that by the time the song starts rocking a bit I'm no longer interested. Neal and Greg really rock at the middle/end of that song.

I always felt that WOM and Patiently showed both sides of Journey better than most any song they ever did, ballad(ish) and rocker in one song. As for the SP/JC-SP/RF thing, though Robert had performed the song I don't think that would necessarily keep SP from redoing it hypothetically, though his voice might. Its not as if it was well known or even on an album prior to his joining.

Hope this isn't a downer, but these lists got me to thinking. When MTV first started doing "Unplugged" shows, I thought how awesome it would be if Journey would do one... Since it never happened, I have to agree with the comment from BTM (Did Azoff say it?), that Journey had great untapped resources - or something to that effect. Any of these lists would be great - I would be so thrilled they were doing an "Unplugged" show, I almost wouldn't care what was played. 8)

i think 'foolish heart' would be a good one to add to that list too....

None of the dd for me thank you. I'm still gathering and listening too all those great songs (live - because I can't say thumbs up or down without hearing it without all the dang polish) that I've not heard before, so a full set list is beyond my grasp. That said, any set list I would do up would include Mother/Father and perhaps City of the Angels along with some of the odd balls they threw out there over the years in concert.

While I'm here, someone (as I've said, I'm probably the least knowledgable here) please fill me in on the history of City of the Angels. Way back in the day it seemed it was always one of those part-and-parcel songs, so I know it was a b-side (maybe not). Other than that, what gives? I never see it on any list of must hears/like to hear, etc... anywhere.

i don't see why cain wouldn't be able to play a piano.but that is a good question strange med because i'm not sure if i've ever seen a piano being played on unplugged segments.
