The dude's been off the radar for going on 10 years now, more since he didn't tour after GH+5. So effectively 11 years since any "new" stuff was played on the radio.

I'm not that surprized but it shows how lame these lists are. They obviously don't know what they're talking about.

Here's the intro:

"Rock's All-Time Best Frontmen and Women

EDITOR'S NOTE: When EW.com's staff began brainstorming a list of the best rock frontmen and -women of all time, you can imagine how long it was — about 150 names from all eras and genres. So how'd we narrow it down to this sleek gallery of 31? Well, we set a couple ground rules:

First, we stripped down the word frontman to its strictest definition — that is, the artist whose sole responsibility it is to stand in front of his/her mates to sing, rap, and entertain, as opposed to playing an instrument to boot.

(Sorry, Billy Joe Armstrong, Gregg Allman, and Jerry Garcia!) Then, we cut the artists who have led bands bearing their names — like Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, or the Jimi Hendrix Experience — simply because, well, it seemed like they're really solo artists with a band in support."

While Stipe's definitely NOT a great vocalist, REM has always been a critic favorite.

I'm more surprised at this one. CHUCK D

Personally, I think we should send either Andrew or Dean to school these idiots at EW about the genre of ROCK. The Jackson Five were never and have never been considered Rock. Punk and alternative, while pulling some minute strings from rock, are not rock. And have I missed the boat completely? Gwen Stefani is Rock? pfftttt.. please.

Hot chicks get a pass! In fact, they put a good picture of Debbie Harry on there. Gwen is verra nice as well.

I'd rather an inaccurate list with pictures of hot chicks than a bunch old geezers.

They can keep the J5 and Bjork off the list though.

That list is so bad its a joke anyway.

Chuck D
Johnny Rotten ?
Joey Ramone

They only got about 5 to 7 accurate picks so its bogus. Having a picture of Gwen Stefani is probably the only thing I liked about it.

Anyone here could come up with better list than those clowns.

Well hell.... If HOT CHICKAS were the ticket, where the hell was Joan Jett or Nancy Wilson or (now I know I've lost it... Big ass blonde gal with short ass hair and even we women thought she was HOT AS HELL - what on earth is her name)? They supposedly threw out certain people (ala Bill Joel, etc) using their own rules about "own name," yet included Stefani. :::shrug::: EW carries absolutely NO credibility, but damn, at least TRY to get things right now and again.

I'm stumped but please don't say Faith Hill. I hate her music so much no amount of hotness can make up for it.

Joan Jett back in the day was cool. Not so much with all the face piercings.

Jett should've been on the list way before Bjork and the others we listed above.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't "Bon Jovi" bear Jon Bon Jovi's name? I thought the rule was they were disqualified. (although, I agree Bon Jovi belongs on the list anyway). I guess they don't follow their own rules.

What a complete joke. I was hoping there would be a place for people's comments but unfortunately I didn't see one.

It's funny how things just fall into place sometimes. After I posted this, I was in another forum and WHAM.. there was the name in a post. Annie Lennox D'oh..... Yup, I'm as dumb as a post sometimes.
