At a recent meeting, the manufacturers showed us a glimpse of the next gen nav, hitting the market by 2009.(The 1st vehicle to have this Navihation is the 2009 Lincoln MKS)
Besides the system being fully voice-activated, there are some neat features such as :
*When you search for closest gas stations, not only will you get a list of the closest ones, but also their actual price on fuel.
*When you search for closest movie theaters, you will also get the play times for the movies playing currently.

Now the main question is , how did we get around and survive without any of these gadgets!???

I don't even have internet access on my cell phone or caller id on my land line. Why do I have a feeling I may never see a car with these gadgets!!! Or maybe I will, in the year 2030

While not being voice activated, the gas price/movie time feature is already available and has been around for about a year now.

Not true. Read it. I know people who use it.
Yes, it has a fee. The one you speak of likely will too in some shape or form (if not in the price of the car).
