EARTH TO STEVE AUGERI, IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS, DO U READ US?

Steve, If you are out there, how about giving us all a Christmas present. Post something, anything, stating what you are up to, what your plans are, and when we can hear some new music. We won't ask you to field any questions, just let us know what's up. It has been nearly a year and a half of silence. Why not break it. God bless you and your family!!!Happy Holidays!!!

Sincce the subject of SA is being raised - I noticed his site is down, just a home page with an image and the simple words "Til we meet again." When did that happen? I honestly can't recall exactly the last time I looked at his site (it's been awhile) but it was up and running not all that long ago. I went on there to see what he was up to and, apparently, he's not up to anything he wants to share. Is he going all "Perry" on us now too?

His site has been that way since this time last year.

I watched it pretty regularly around the time JSS was filling in, and his home page changed the day they announced JSS as the "official" new singer. There is a link to e-mail there (I guess his webmaster). I e-mailed it early on after the change, but never heard back. I did hear from another board member (I think via PM) who seemed pretty confident that we will not hear from Augeri again. Hope that's not the case...

There's only two and a half ways we'll hear from Augeri again:

Either he'll a) write and record a solo album largely on his own and self-release it in some way (which I doubt, since while he contributed a bit to his Journey albums, he was never a primary writer), or

b) He'll join another established band as singer, as he joined Journey. However, I see this as pretty unlikely in that his history of vocal problems and his condition by the time he left in '06 makes him a bit of a liability, even in a band where he'd be singing in a more comfortable register. I imagine his voice is fucked up in a way that it may never fully recover. Or...

c) (the half) He'll show up and do a track randomly on one of those half-assed tribute records to various bands that labels keep pumping out every year. Eventually John Corabi will get bored of them and they might ask Augeri to sing a track...but this doesn't really count has 'hearing from him again' in a major sense, just throwing that possibility out there.

I really wish he would address his fans who stuck up for and stood by him all those years. I understand that he may not be "allowed" but it would be great to hear anything from him.

I heard the Tall Stories album was finished, mixed and mastered over 5 months back.

I'd love to hear from Steve too.

Mr. Drew??

I really don't know. I haven't heard from Steve in 18 months or more...the offer is always open and he is aware of that.

Hmm... I know I had looked at it during the "waiting" for JSS to be official - maybe that was the last time then, if it changed right after that. Either way, I was hoping to find some news or something there because I was curious what he might be up to. I'd like to catch a show or something if that's what he plans on doing, so that's what I was looking to see.

My prediction:

If either EVER release anything again, Augeri will do it first.

I think it's pretty darn sad.

Honestly Barb we will not hear from him. He knows his fanbase is very very small. I am not anti- Steve, just being real Barb.

I just hope eventually he says something, greets his fans at least as suggested, or we may have to form a posse and go track him down. :P

Small compared to what? :) The man spends almost nine years fronting Journey, the vast majority of us stopped thinking of him as "The Replacement" within a year and he surely can't think that he made few fans after all that time!

I'd like to think he knows we're waiting....

Journey shafted him (twice), this forum roasted him. Where would he respond?

But as Andrew mentioned, the TS 2 is supposedly done.

I'm thinking maybe he'll release it on iTunes or through his own site. Either is good with me.

Barb the majority of Journey fans still think as Steve Perry as the singer. He has a very small fanbase who know that he was journey's singer for 9 years and before that he was in Tall Stories. We are lucky to know of his work before Journey.

Doubt it'll happen, but I'd like to hear Augeri sing a song or two with JSS and Talisman. 8)

Steve had been a part of Blen Burtnick's Christmas Extravaganza a couple of times (excluding last year obviously), maybe he will join in again......

I wouldn't say that so fast...
If there was ever a perfect time for Mr Augeri to re-appear,
right now would be the PERFECT time. Look no further than
this forum.

If ANYONE close to Mr Augeri were to spend some time in here,
they would quickly see how the times have changed, how MANY
of the fans that were jumping for joy at his dismissal and ranting
about TG are the SAME folks that have now realized what we may
have had/lost with Mr Augeri fronting this band. Some still think
jeff was the better fit but a lot of people have come to more clearly
appreciate Mr Augeri's time in the band and are actually
ANXIOUS to hear from him.

Whether it be a candid interview explain last year's debacle or
new music, Mr Augeri actually has a lot of fans wondering and waiting right now...

SteveA seems like a great guy. But when you're caught red handed involved with something like TapeGate, it's best to lay low for a year or so, then come back firing. He has to just feel like crap over that whole fiasco. I can't imagine him wanting to lip sync in front of fans at a live show, that has to be worse thing a true singer can go through. That one tape where the recorded vocal cuts out and he has to continue singing has got to be the saddest thing I've heard a singer go through. His voice was obviously shreaded. man...

SA wasn't the only one 'caught red-handed' in TapeGate. There were 4 other band members on the stage and lots of support staff that were involved as well. They didn't seem to lay low. I'm not a SA fan, and I do feel he needs to be held accountable for his part in the scandal, but he was not the 'lone gunman'.

I hope SA is happy and healthy and that those of you who want to hear from him get your wishes granted.

Admittedly, I've done a complete 180 on this issue. Augeri did very little wrong in my eyes. He was not part of the classic lineup and certainly didn't have any weight when decision making time came. If Neal and Jon wanted to deceive the fans and bastardize their reputation as a live band, why should Augeri fight for something he wasn't part of in the first place? The man was paid to do as he was told, just like Ross and Deen. Journey's management team is a 3 ring circus....Azoff, Schon and Cain.

I m sure the Journey mafia silenced him pretty good. They like control, sadly I doubt we ever here from him. I dont blame him,I wouldnt want anything to do with Journey or anything assciated with them.He was shamed and discraced in front of thousands of people, weither he chose to do it doesnt really matter anymore. I hope is living a happy and normal life. It is good for him that he is not with them fucking clowns anymore. Journey is shit now.Total shit

ahhhh,, but remember ALL those augeri supporters you beat up... screamed and cursed at..was so rude too.. and about 5 other posters hereas well .. all the Augeri folks were run off ....now what would it take to go back to those posters and write a hand written apology , and thank them for just being them... this could be good..
