Perfect Journey Wedding Song?

Postby ScarabGator » Thu Nov 22, 2007 5:23 am

My friend is getting married and she, like myself, is a huge Journey fan. So she wants a Journey tune played at the ceremony after the whole Bridal march thing. She was talking Open Arms, Faithfully, etc, etc. I suggested she re-listen to the tune "With Your Love" from the Arrival CD. Listen to the words, what a perfect wedding song. I invite all of you to read the words to this song again. Anyway, she loves the song now and plans to use it. She will print the words out and give it to all the guests! 8)

Gator

That is the perfect song we had it played right before our vows and to say there were tears in the audience is an understatement.

Our theme was Lifetime of Dreams which we play religiously on the morning of our anniversary

I tell people about this all the time!!! If I have anything to do with it my daughters will also feature this tune when they decide to tie the knot.

Classic tune. I laughed out loud. Thanks for the chuckle.

If we're being serious I'd say "When You Love A Woman." Face it, it's the woma's night to feel special. The guy knows his life is headed down the shitter.

Nah, I can't see any Journey song used at a wedding. They don't seem like the wedding type songs.
But, hey, didn't SP sing at someone's wedding recently? Maybe you could hire him. That might be his comeback all the fan-atics have been waiting for!

I'm sure I'll take shit for this but All the Way from Arrival would be my pick. That one was under rated as a killer ballad. Say what you want but Augeri was good and contributed on that record.

I don't think When You Love a Woman nails it because a wedding is about how both people feel about each other. WYLAW is just about how a man feels about a woman.

Why Can't This Night Go On Forever was in fact my wedding song and it went over quite well. Only suggestion would be to have someone recut the song to extend it and make it last longer. Very easy to do.

Aaron, you'll never hear me ridicule this choice. All the way is a GREAT song and I never get tired of hearing it. I would play this at my wedding(s) anytime.

I've been reading this board for a while but this is my first post. I had to respond to this post as With Your Love is the song we used at our wedding 5 years ago. I provided the band with a copy of the song and they played it perfectly. I also printed the words and gave it to all of our guests since it wasn't a mainstream song that everyone knew so it's a good idea for your friend to do this as well. You wouldn't believe how many compliments we got from people once they read the lyrics.

What about Cain's version of "Bridal March". It almost makes me want to walk the aisle again.

Whatever.

It is a spectacular cover, however.
