Incredible...perhaps the best version of WWY I've heard.

Those were pretty awesome man!!! Keep 'em coming! He's incredibly similar to Perry, but somethings different (maybe his vibrato?). Either way, he sounds great. Can't wait to heas more!

I know! I talked to him a few times over the phone several months ago, and was thinking the same thing! Although Jeremey talks like Perry too! It tripped me out the first time I talked to Jeremey at how close his speaking voice was to Perry's.

Thanks so much for doing this LD. It's interesting to listen to. For me, Jason's voice is too nasal in these & he loses power as he goes up in pitch. I wonder if he had a cold that nite. He really struggles on parts of Oh Sherrie that I wouldn't expect him to based on other things I've heard. I like the way he changes things up & makes them his own tho. It really is a shame this guy isnt singing anymore.

This is from a different show that the other clip. SOunds great to me I dont hear any struggle myself but who knows. If he was having an off night I would have to say his off nights are better than most in their prime.

This WAS when Jason was in his prime, right? He's like 8-9 years older now right?

This was from 10 years ago. I would say as a band their 1st line up made the whole band sound better (1995 or so) but Jason always sounded good. 1st line up had better backing vox and the guitar player played Schon spot on and sand Rollie spot on.. The audio from this tape was called "Last Show" which I think was wrong. I think they played their last show in 99...

Not only is Kelty a really strong singer, but the band is really tight. Excellent musicianship all around.

I don't hear any drain in Kelty's power in any part of this clip. What I do hear on occasion is he's pulling the mic further away from his mouth in some spots. Probably from running around and performing, not just standing at the mic and singing.

He had it down. All the little perryisms to the point where I wondered if he was obsessed with him or something. You felt like you were watching a Journey show period and you forgot you were watching a tribute band. It really was that good as you can hear from these horrible quality audio clips ao imagine hearing it in person. Sorry to say this but if they were performing I would go see them over the real thing unless Perry was there. I really do mean that. Near perfect reproduction of the band in its prime. The only thing that I thought was a little weird is hearing Jason do the later stuff. As we all know Perry sounded quite a bit different on Frontiers and ROR however Kelty sounds like Infinity/Departure/Escape Perry so do the math.. He didnt sound bad of course.

And yes, I saw them more times that I can remember. This was their last line up so if you think they are good on this you should have heard the 1st lineup.. My God, my jaw was on the floor the whole show 1st time I saw them and it was by chance as I wasnt even a fan then. They are the reason I am a fan because I got to hear more than the dirty dozen so you can see why I am so endured to that band/time.....

I do wish Jason was singing something... He has "the voice". Not "THE VOICE" but "the voice" You know what I mean. And yes that is just the way he sounds when he sings.

Jackass.

Anyway, from what I can hear Kelty does sound very, very good on these clips. I wonder what he looks like now. In all the old photos I've seen of him he appeared full on geeky - not how you would imagine a front man to look but he sure had the voice down pat.

It appears like Jason gained a bit of weight, but he pretty much looks the same. I'll be seeing them live soon and will give a full report.

Just listened to The Party's Over again - holy sh!t that dude can full on wail! It just sounds like prime Perry, in fact prime Journey!

I really hope that Kelty still has enough of that old magic in the tank. Maybe some new bootlegs will appear from the upcoming live shows -nudge, nudge, wink, wink!

Frightening! He could definitely do with gaining a few pounds. Looks like an emancipated woman there.
