Anyone else going to be there January 25th? :P

The new trailers really suck, but the best one was the 3.5 minute "teaser" that was done earlier this year. Now they are running spots with Drowning Pool (Let the bodies hit the floor) music behind them, I guess to attract a younger audience.

(First trailer -- awesome, but VERY violent!)

That was awesome!!! But how come Sly gets to take steroids (and get caught with them) and no one cares? Movie looks great. I'll be there.

He looks friggin JACKED too. 8) Hopefully the don't pull a Live Free Or Die Hard and sanitize what from that teaser trailer looked like a violent, gory, solid R-rated First Blood movie.

The Sly fans were disappointed in the cheese that was added to the "official" trailer, like the "Live for nothing, or die for something... your choice!" line, but we figure it's taken out of context. I understand Lionsgate has to market to a younger audience, but early reviews say the movie itself is great and has some depth. The concept is that Rambo is practically atheistic and empty inside, but his encounters with a group of Christian missionaries causes him to rethink things...

Yes, I love the first trailer with all the head-chopping, point-blank 50-cal'ing, throat ripping, gut-slicing action. :) The graphic nature of that trailer created a huge buzz on the Net several months ago. In this PC era when everything is shown in shades of gray, it's nice to see the bad guys get what's coming to them every once in a while. I think it will be another huge hit.

Ooo hold the horn here...I see from the official site that it IS, in fact, rated R.

Yes, the 'roids... haha! It's not surprising, but a bit disappointing in light of the fact that his book "Sly Moves" revolutionized my diet and exercise routine. He stresses doing things the natural way. It's a great book, and goes thru lots of behind-the-scenes info on his various movies, and how he prepared for each. He conveniently leaves out any mention of steroids, but from all the bodybuilders, trainers, and nutrition experts I've ever talked to, it's near impossible for many people to achieve that type of build without a little "help" from either steroids or HGH (human growth hormone). I think it was actually HGH he was caught with while making that movie.

i once read that book as well,, very dissapointing,, no more than Suzane Summers selling all her products for fitness and natural health ,, when in fact , secretly .. shes getting facelifts and lipo suction.. of all the millions of THigh Masters that were sold,, why is it that no one will fess up to buying them... if you see them at a garage sale the seller always says it was left by an ex- realitive ....

You hit the nail right on the head, and Suzanne Sommers is another perfect example of this. Hypocrisy aside though, Sly's book is still a great diet and exercise book, and I know following it instantly turned things around for me. It's the only book in my gym, and I still refer to it often. Hope to get it signed someday!

I also have a big stash of Stallone Protein Pudding for snacks. I think Instone has since dropped the Stallone name from the product. Hey, another great product -- Steven Seagal's Lightning Bolt energy drink... haha! I have several cans that I kept around, and I actually love the stuff! I think it's also a dead product...

Hey RedJoe, if you pick up the DVD for Die Hard4 they have the uncut version. More swearing, more blood and the tag line is intact. Sad to say though, only the tag line improves the film, the rest was not missed in the original...

I just watched the uncut version a few days ago, and I think you are right -- other than adding those things, I couldn't really tell a difference otherwise. The sidekick kid in that film did a tremendous job, and was one of the best things about it.

Heard about that but still bought the theatrical version b/c I heard exactly what you said, the only real difference was "Motherfucker" instead of "Mother(machinegunblast)." Not worth 10 more bucks.

That's the dude that was in "Jeepers Creepers" and is also the MAC in the mac vs pc ads. ;) He's been in a few other low budget movies, he always seems to play the nervous type. :)

Where do you shop? I bought the disc at WalMart for $16 with both versions...

Yeah! Why do that when I can come to the MelodickRock board and hear it all day for FREE? :P

Actually, the disc I rented had both versions, and it prompted me at the start for which version I wished to watch, even before going to the main menu selections. Maybe in some stores they sell discs with either one version or the other. Man, these days, you really have to decide which store you want to buy a disc from, because each big retailer seems to have their own special packaging for many films -- bonus discs, accessories, etc.

I could actually GO for another Jaws.

That's also a very remakeable film, if they did it RIGHT, with the right actors and minimal CGI and filmed it up Martha's Vineyard or Long Island...
