The World's First Robotic Guitar, Neal Schon, and You

What a perfect meeting of past, present, and future glories. Former Santana guitarist/now-and-forever Journey member Neal Schon is coming back to the North Bay (where he grew up and leaned how to strum) to help launch the first-ever Gibson Robot Guitar. Just what is the Gibson Robot Guitar, you ask? We have no idea. But let's go to the press release to find out!

Ahem: it says that it's -- get this -- "the world's first guitar with robotic technology." Hmm. Ok then.

Well, we're still at a loss as to how the new Gibson differs from you regular electric guitar -- surely, the instrument was concocted in a cobweb-laced science lab with dry ice fumes brimming out of colorful test tubes and beakers and such! -- but what's not confusing is the awesome presence of Journey. Come meet acclaimed Journey guitarist who will host the demonstrate and perform using the world's "first-run limited edition version of the Gibson Les Paul Robot Guitar." A question and answer session will follow, and you can try purchasing the guitar on Friday, December 7, when the limited number of cherry guitars go on sale.

I guess for folks who can't tune their guitar it could be helpful.

It is pretty cool from a novelty standpoint but it doesn't look to be worth the +$800 bucks to me.

I haven't been posting much. Been in front of a sewing machine, getting some quilts done for my kids for Christmas. And really, there hasn't been much I wanted to say! Lmao!

The "FRObot"... Maybe it can be programmed to fire band members so the guitarist doesn't have to get his hands dirty.

Whatever old clothes are in the house, they get cut up and used as quilts! I am doing some recycling here! ( Also it doesn't hurt getting material for a dollar a yard at Wal-Mart either!)

My sister Eileen quilts. She made two beautiful quilts for the boys.... trains of course .

Hand, I learned to quilt in Carroll County... I didn't even know there were mechanized ones.

Sal are you talking about making the tops or actually quilting them to the backs?

I make the tops, then sew the backs on, then I put fill in, then I use yarn to make the little tie thingies on them. I still have to fill and put the yarn thingies on my oldest kids quilts. Then I will be finished with their Christmas presents! (Thank God!)

Yeah they exist. My aunt has one and it take a whole room just like the old ones but it just doesn't take as much work. My mom and aunts are all into making quilts(tops and finishing) and I do baby quilts. I tie the ones I do though.

That's the way I make baby quilts Sal. It's a lot of work but it's a good feeling when you're done.

Yes, it is a good feeling! I also wasn't online as much when I was working on them either. Once I get into the mode to do one, I just go gung ho!
