Just curious if there are any other pro-Journey supporters still reading this board. I know I'm in the minority by still supporting them, but let's hear it from other posters if they still support Journey - reply to this thread before it goes down in flames by the Journey haters.

You didn't leave an option for those of us who are just apathetic about the situation. I could honest to God care less either way. Just the same as I've always been. Its about the music, if the music sucks, I won't support it, if it doesn't suck, then yay good music. And it is way too early to be forming opinions on stuff that won't be heard for half a year.

I'll support them initially. I'll check out a show or two. I've given every incarnation a chance except Perry the quitter's. He didn't afford me that opportunity.

I am on the fence, I hope the new material is worthwhile.
I am still pissed about the bands lack of class and dealing with people as pawns. The new material must be phenomenal or I will not support this line up.

Im with ya on that. I wish they would get Augeri or Perry back. This is rediculous.

I didnt vote in your poll either as my postion is that I've always loved the music but am higly irritated over the way theyve handled things over the past year and a half. If the new material sounds great I'll listen in, after all its the music I'm interested in.
However, I'm not sure if I'll ever have the qualifications to become chairman of their fan club. They've spoilt a little bit for me.

I'm actually excited about Arnel and the way Kevin Shirley is talking about the sessions. I'll definitely buy the new album and tickets for any UK shows.

If you mean the quote "there's a sucker born every minute"...well, firstly Barnum never said that. And second...as a staunch supporter of the Augeri line-up you might want to think twice before sneering at people for being conned.

He is credited with it, and there is no proof that he didn't say it.
Don't make me explain to you again how much I enjoy Arrival and Gens. How are Perry's albums since 1998? Oh, yeah...

What's Perry got to do with this? He might have drifted into a frustratingly early retirement but he's never made suckers of the fans....other than hinting that he might return, I guess...
Anyway NIG...why so closed minded about this line-up? Out of anyone here you're the most loyal to Journey as opposed to the lead vocalists. Surely you haven't made up your mind already after a couple of You Tube clips and a joke about Ugandan bushmen?

being a huge schon fan, i always look forward to new music. i hope this record dosent fall into the ballad, mid tempo ballad, no rocker formula.
since thay are going more classic journey , i think that means more ballads . and live it means just the same 12 songs over and over again.
ballads always seen better when there are a couple in bewteen a bunch of good rockers/mid tempo, and not the other way like arrival.
we will see if the songs are good people will put all the BS in the back of thier minds .
08 is shaping up to be a good year new asia, journey, maybe some new VH

I don't think they are going to be a true band anymore, just a greatest hits touring band. If they prove me wrong and put out great new music, I will change my mind. As far as Arnel, I hope he does a great job and is treated fairly by the band. I think he can sing, but I just don't have high hopes. Maybe I am just jaded by the series of bad decisions Journey has made lately, the newest one being the re-recording of the hits.

Sorry.

Twenty-two years of Journey's rollercoaster has given me motion sickness. Props to Arnel - he seems like a nice enough guy. Too bad he's swimming with sharks. I'm not buying any CDs or going to any concerts. I bought Soul SirkUS for JSS' vocals and I'm not spending one more cent on Neal.

SoulSirkus was amazing. I actually get off more on Neals axe work than Jeff's pipes on that cd.

Fuck these guy's. I think I'm going to sell my Journey collection (gold records, platinum records, drum heads) etc.
There are fuckstains on eBay that will still pay $$ for it.

I'll believe it when it's confirmed by Andrew.
