Hope this works. Never tried to post pictures before.

Many years ago, maybe round about '94, I went to a showcase for Jonathan's music. This was the Back to the Innocence stuff. It was a good show. Anyway, I wrote about it and submitted my article to my dear friend Lora and being as gracious as she always was, she printed it in the Journey Force newsletter. I was so honored. If I remember right, it was the first fan article. The next issue featured a couple fan letters and I think that was the last one. Until e got S.P.I.N., of course. Long time ago, bad memory.

I found this tonight and re-read it. So much of it seems appropriate for today, but then as I got to the end, I thought "What the hell happened?" But that's not for this post. Just wanted to share my moment of Journey glory. Cheesy as it seems now.

If you look at Jonathon in the bottom picture and Lora in the picture directly above, it looks as if Lora's dress and Jon's shirt were woven from the same cloth. Looks lovely on Lora, and well....it looks lovely on Jon too.

awwww. Thanks, Dan. And I'm sure Jonathan thanks you as well.

And thanks Mike for posting this. Those were such good times. I remember that showcase as if it happened last week. Definitely lots of love in that room that day. :)

I'm curious - are then any members of this forum in any of those pictures?

We went to to his show a day or two later. That was great too. I have a few pictures from the showcase. Me and Lora, me and my friend with Jon and one with Randy Jackson. I have a couple of Steve Perry, but they look exactly like ones that other people took that are available on the net.

By the way, living in Southern California I see a lot of stars. I've met many. Big stars too. I have never once been star struck. But I can honestly say that as a 28 year old man, all of the air in my body was sucked out of me when Steve Perry drove up that day. I'm more than a little embarrased to say I felt like a little girl. :) It was just so shocking how it happened. It was cool of him to stop by. But I am not a fool. I know there was no way in hell he wanted to stay for that. I was just being kind. :) Great moment for me and everyone else though. Thanks Lora.

I'm curious about that, too. I kind of doubt it, though as this was a few....well more like about 13-14, years ago.

The Force

I'm curious, and not sure if you can talk about it Lora, but I always kinda wondered why the Force didn't start back up when Trial By Fire came out - was that a band decision, Sony decision, or what? The Force turned into SPIN right as I was becoming a full-fledged fan and I was always kinda bummed I never got to be part of the force!

I know she has discussed that before, if I remembered the details I would pass them on. But I am sure there is no problem talking about it...

We were ready to fire The Force up again, but Journey's management (Azoff) wasn't interested.

Thanks for sharing that, Mike...and, a thrill for you to meet SP so unexpectedly. Wish I had been around back then for the Force thing - must've been fun.
