Escape
Frontiers (although if Ask the Lonely, Only Solutions and Only the Young were included it would be first)
Captured
Evolution
Departure
Infinity
Raised on Radio
Trial by Fire

Can't include Arrival or Generations as they're Bad English at best. As far as I'm concerned, TBF was the last Journey album (unless Arnel surprises me it will stay that way)

The hard part about this is that I have to list "least favorites". That does not really mean bad, or worst. They all have something I enjoy (even ROR).

(Red13)

Departure
Frontiers
Escape
Infinty
Arrival
Evolution
Journey
Generations
TBF
Dream After Dream
Next
Look Into The Future

(ROR)

I STILL love listening to RED13. Once you get past the mix it is a solid EP. But it is an EP so I did not fit it on the list.
I put ROR at the bottom, not really on the list either, because it is too much of a Perry album for me. It is enjoyable at times. There are some good tunes on it. But it fits into the Journey list less than others for me. However, if I really was forced to include it on the list, it would go after TBF. And I didn't include Captured because that would be like adding the GH disc. It is live, and a compilation of sorts.

TBF/ROR (I can never decide which I like best)
Escape
Frontiers
The first three with Perry (I'm assuming this is studio and no compilations.)

So are you ignoring the post-Perry and pre-Perry eras altogether. You could have atleast put them on the bottom of the list! ;) And I would be interested to see which you think is worse!

I never compare the first 3 Journey albums with the ones that came after them. I also don't compare Dream After Dream with the others. And I don't like to compare live or greatest hits albums with studio albums.
So with that said....

Frontiers
Escape (almost tied with Frontiers)
Departure
Generations
Infinity
Trial By Fire
Arrival (almost tied with Trial By Fire)
Raised On Radio
Evolution (almost tied with Raised On Radio)

I also don't want to compare Red 13 with the others since it's really only a 4 song EP.

i'm starting to see that 'evolution' is near the middle or bottom of everyones list.that album has some pretty good ones like 'too late' 'sweet and simple' 'lovin' touchin' plus 'just the same way' and 'daydream'.i've always thought it was pretty good.i like it better than departure for some reason.

Neil Zaza, who is a great guitarist, and a huge fan of Neal Schon, names Evolution as his favorite album that Neal Schon has ever played on.

It ranks low on my list of favorite Journey albums. Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a great album, but to me the musicianship while still excellent is a little too laid back. I've always thought that Evolution became too much just about Steve Perry and not enough of the rest of the band. I've always felt that Departure brought back more of the Rocking aspects of the band.

I'm gonna get drilled for this, but everyone doesn't think the same..

Escape: Right amount of everything!
Frontiers: Same
Arrival: I'm sorry, but this album is crazy nuts good to me.. This has everything also.. All of the things, diff, but wonderful.. World gone wild,Neal's guitar,Fuck me! Live and Breathe,wow.. We will meet again..OMG
Evolution: Love all the highs Perry hits.. Sweet and Simple has no equal !
Infinity: Winds of March,Opened the door,so much feeling, off the charts..Something to hide, the most incredible highs,no clone can duplicate!
Captured: One of the most incredible live albums ever! The way Perry changed some of the songs, should have been done on the studio albums..La do da,changed to perfection!
Departure:People and Places, the harmony is breath taking! Good Morning Girl,The song has so much feeling, its so beautiful!
Trial By Fire: Liked it alot,to much elevator music not enough rock.
Raised on Radio: Ok,Perry solo.
Generations: I actually liked all the songs with Augeri.. Butterfly just wasn't Journey..Augeri wrote that one..

Would love to hear some comments..
I never really felt like I was part of the band "Steve Perry"

The pre-Perry is worse because I'm all about the vocals. :)

if frontiers had originally had only the young and ask the lonely instead of back talk and troubled child it might've been ranked better than escape.the A&R nut who pulled those off the record at the 11th hour was a real dumbass.

3. Escape
4. Infinity
5. Evolution
6. Live in Houston 81
7. Frontiers

It can change on a daily basis though. Except Captured. My favorite ever since it came out. I love live music and to me this was Journey at their best. I wasn't thrilled with Roy Thomas Bakers' production job on Infinity and Evolution. Captured is the way I want to hear those songs.
