Fantastic Melodic Rock Group You May Not Of Listened To

Postby youkeepmewaiting » Sat Dec 15, 2007 9:18 am

Ive been reading these forums for a long time and it seems that Jim Peterick is a well liked fella around here, and so he should, one of the greatest melodic writers ever!

Ive only heard a handful of his solo stuff and i like most of what i hear but always feel that his voice really isnt for me, although its starting to grow on me.

BUt then not so long ago i discovered about his band Pride Of Lions, and then was even more shocked to find that they already have 3 albums out! How did i not here about them sooner?!

I bought the albums and was not let down in the slightest, ok so some of it is amazingly corny, particually some songs on the latest albu, but overall they are all just great feel good records.

The main singer Toby, is fantastic, and theres always some good harmonies between him and JP, almost like SP and Rolie . .but not quite obvisouly.

This is a great acousitc performace, the perfect AOR track in my opinion, a great chorus, and a bridge to die for! as well as a fantastic key chance that really shows off Toby's live vocal abilities,

anyways just thought id pass this on as its really starting to annoy me that i dont think this band is getting enough attention.

have a listen if you will :)

Yeah Pride of Lions are pretty cool even if Toby kind of looks like a plumber - Stellar singer though! They have a DVD out too. It's well worth buying here's a clip -

Hmm, agreed. As great a song writer as he is Peterik's voice is an aquired taste for sure.

I'm not a big fan of Pride of Lions but they have a few good songs.

BTW, it's "might HAVE listened to" not "might OF listened to". Sorry, couldn't let that one pass.

I'm glad someone finally said something. It was driving me CRAZY but I didn't want to seem like a nag by bringing it up.
