Does anyone else think this is one of the dumbest ideas ever? No one who drives a hybrid vehicle deserves a better parking space. Handicapped people? Yes. Mothers with small children? Perhaps. Hybrids? Hell, no.

I haven't personally seen one of these at any place that I shop but if I do, I will be parking there with my gas guzzling Dodge Dakota.

scoot over and I'll park my suburban or my husband's diesel Excursion there too.

hehe

actually, he is kind of intrigued by the hybrids.

AND he is working on a project to build an ethenol plant. we manufacture taco shells and can get all the frying oil we need. plus, he grows corn by the 1000s of acres so there is always that too.

lynn, if you get preggers, you'll have to sell the new sofa bed to put up a crib and I don't think it will be as comfortable for me when I come to visit next time. :D :D :D

We have them in Syracuse...If you park there and you're not driving a Hybrid, you get a warning...here's your warning...

Image

WTF...non-hybrid rides are sending more gases into the atmosphere driving around the parking lot trying to find a freakin' space.

What?!? LOL! No, I'm no thread killer! The conversation was just getting good! :P

Juuuuuuuuuuust in case I was misunderstood, I wasn't talking about the topic creating division, but the act of giving hybrid cars special parking -- and the resentment coming from those who can't park in the same slots. Usually someone with nefarious intentions behind this kind of stuff.

Had a Jeep Sahara... didn't conserve fuel... that lasted about 3 months. :P Dang, I wish I had that Jeep back, though!

Liberty Renegade, 6-speed manual transmission. Put 47,000 miles on it in 57 weeks. 8)

I don't have anything against hybrids. I think they're kinda cool, actually, but it's just ridiculous to have a special parking spot for them.

Mine was gorgeous, but only got 13MPG. My first Jeep... :( That was coming off of having a Toyota MR-2 Spyder that got close to 30.

Yeah. My old car (which I still own) is a 97 Dodge Stratus with 258,000 miles on it. Gets about 40mpg. No shit. Love that damn car! I get about 20-23 with my Jeep.

Not for the sake of "going green", no. The only reason I'd consider buying one is to save on gas.

Be careful who you consider "fat", though. My wife and I have a friend who is overweight and has a handicapped parking pass but she's got muscular dystrophy. I could see people looking at her and thinking she just has it because she is overweight but I know her and how hard she works to stay in shape and all the struggles she's gone through.

True, true... Actually, I have absolutely nothing against conservation, and I'm all for it. I'm all for the environment, and being good stewards of the planet we live on. I'm not for all the politics and hidden socialist agendas behind the "green movement".
