That was our Super Bowl!

We'll get the #1 pick - there's no way we beat New England next weekend.

Billick made an ass out of himself in the press conference. How can they come within a hair of beating the Pats 2 weeks ago, then lose to the Dolphins today? PISS POOR COACHING.

Ed and NIGY, Troy Smith looked good. Don't ya think?

Yeah, I guess. Better than Boller, that's for sure. Major changes need to take place in the offseason. Dump McNair and Boller, sign a quality free agent QB, make Smith the backup. I am so pissed that Billick is coming back, tho. He's a snake oil salesman. Totally full of BS.

I'd start him the rest of the way. Billick should have started him today.

The Ravens won't beat a Pop Warner football team starting their shitty backup secondary. Cory Ivy sucks.

Ozzie Newsome needs to go too. Where's the depth?

Oh well, I'm happy for the Dolphins. Man though, it looked like there were only about 25,000 in the stands though.

Pretty good turnout for a team that hadn't won a single game and a team that is being shopped around to the highest bidder!

Billick has no balls. 4th and a half-yard, the offense is hot, 17 seconds left. And he kicks a FG. Someone should have told Billick before the game they are already out of the playoffs. Go for the win, ass.

Not really. They don't draw when they are winning. Then again if I lived in that awesome climate, I'd probably find other things to do too!!!! :P

No, the Ravens will probably waive him after the season so another division rival can make a star out of him. Billick doesn't know a good QB when he's staring him in the face. His biggest weakness, IMO.

With the Dolphins attendance is good when the product is good, same as the Marlins. But the fans refuse to battle traffic and heartbreak when the teams are getting very little ownership support, IE the Marlins getting rid of their quality players every off season and rebuilding again. Fans are sick of that. Miami has always been a football town. When I grew up there my dad had season tix every year and it was always sold out. These days there is just not much to support, other than the Dolphin label and unfortunately thats not enough....Remember the Marino days? No seat in the house to be found. I dont think the "Cleo Lemon" days are gonna be as lucrative though...

LOL!

He did ok today from what I can see. Trade you Kyle Boller for him.

Seriously, even though my home team lost, I was happy for the Phins. Great franchise, and an 0 for would have sucked.

Did you see our owner after the game, Wayne Huizenga(at least the owner for now) he was crying and doing the "We're not worthy" arms wave....

Jason Taylor is a BEAST!!! I cant imagine him wanting to stay with the Phins though, unless he is addicted to South Beach.

You cant blame them for feeling like this. This wasnt a typical loss, they lost to the worse team in the NFL. I feel bad for them. I had already accepted another perfect Dolphin season, just perfect in the other direction.

That would be two Super Bowl victories in a row for DolPhans. Hell, that would be a dynasty.

Any given Sunday!

Dude, stop trying to sneak a fastball by me. Ain't gonna happen. The Marlins play in a football stadium and averaged 16,920 per game last year, worst in the NL. Even in their World Series years of 2003, they were next to last at 16,089 per game.

Of course he was.

He is shopping the franchise ...... before today that asking price was 1 billion (yes, that's a "b")

Now with string of 1 win, my guess his he will boost it to 1.5$

Do I sound bitter??

Hell yes

The Florida Panthers Hockey team starts in Miami, wins the frigging Stanley cup their first season........ and are moved to Ft. Lauderdale

The Marlins win the World Series and the next day, the favorite players are traded.

Now who know what will happen to the Fins.

Miami will never be accused of being a "sports town". In fact, I can't think of a single southern city that is! Outside of college sports and NASCAR, there isn't a single southern city that comes to mind as being a respectable sports city. When I think of sports cities, I think of Boston, Philadelphia, NY, Chicago, Detroit, and St. Louis. I think Ed is probably on to something about the whole weather thing. Hell, when it's nice out all year long, people have better things to do than follow their teams. I think if we had a poll of the absolute WORST sports cities in America, most of them would be in the south! I would nominate Atlanta as number one!

Speaking of fastballs, I have to decide whether or not to play another year of real baseball at age 39. I will be 40 during the playoffs.

You're basically right. I say basically because NASCAR and College sports are big in the South. However, Pro sports blow. Case in point.

Miami, Atlanta, New Orleans and Carolina(Raleigh).

Miami- Shit attendance for Panthers, Heat and Marlins, and this year the Dolphins. I remember watching the Heat in the Finals and empty seats everywhere.

Atlanta
- Thrashers do ok, but Hawks and Falcons are pure shit. No, they are worse than shit, they are a cancer. The Braves have a good organization but even they had empty seats during playoff games. I remember the slogan there used to be, "Go Braves, and take the Falcons with you."

New Orleans- Saints. Decent. Remember the Jazz(now Utah)? They had Pete Maravich and still moved away. Shithole of a town. Republicans think Katrina was sent from above to clean up that shithole. Result? Needs more work.

Now to be fair, on the flip side, cities like Durham, NC, Tobacco Road, NC, Athens, GA, Gainsville FL, Baton Rouge LA, Birmingham AL, Tuscaloosa, Lexington KY...all killer college towns.
