Did anyone actually confirm Augeri's performance in Florida last month?

Fraudulent report, according to my source. (Don't bother asking) Never happened.

I hope he does perform someday though and wish SA all the best.

Yet, notice no real details.

Even if he had performed, that is not much of a report now is it? Who runs the Augeri street team myspace page anyway?

It says he supposedly performed with Brooke St. James from Tyketto. Anyone want to contact him to confirm this performance? I'd love to be proven wrong on this one, but I know who I talked with about this and the information is usually right on.

I did some research on this and nailed down the hospital and foundation contact numbers, and even 1 special event that occurred that evening, but called at the wrong times to reach anyone to confirm it. That info is in another thread -- I think the previous one about Augeri's supposed performance, if anyone wants to look it up. That being said, I could find no details online in the description of that event that indicated he was there at all.

This really shows you how sad things in the Journey world have become. Many major bands' official websites will report on what former members are up to. With Journey there is no real official site, and what exists doesn't even report on what the current incarnation of the band is up to save for just giving you a press release that goes out to other sites beforehand.

As for the myspace thing, that's not enough. Regardless of what happened or didn't - (and I still beleive who I talked to until someone can show otherwise), any site worth it's salt would have had photos up and a list of what Steve A supposedly sang. Soto's myspace page certainly would have and does.

So once again, the fans are left to sort it all out. Again this is no knock on Steve A, but I know a lot of his fans deserve a lot more details if in fact he really did perform. A vague blurb on a fan based myspace page just isn't going to cut it.

Yeah, I agree. Why the hell is the guy so elusive now? He has all but disappeared. He seemed different than that during his time with Journey - real fan friendly and down to earth. Is it a rule that after you've been the lead vocalist for Journey for a few years that you have to fall off the face of the earth when you leave?

The guy is probably scarred for life after all of the abuse he took.

Gator, you really do need to drop Susie as your inside informant, and yes, I do know all about it. She hasn't a clue.

He should treat it like the sterioid scandal in baseball and move on. Just admit that you fucked up, you had an edge when you were struggling, and people will root for you and build you back up. To hide and hope it all goes away is the wrong thing to do. I think there is a lot more sympathy today for Steve then there was a year ago anyway.

Since many of us belong to other boards, I suspect that you're thinking of this thread on this board: http://www.journeyforums.com/good-news-for-steve-augeri-fans-t910.html.

There is mention of friends of different people attending the same event. Still not first-hand information for me, but pretty darned close enough.

Journeys web site can't even report on what THEY are doing let alone former members. It's THE shittiest web site of a well known band I've EVER seen. It always has been. The web has done nothing positive for Journey. They should just remove their web site if they can't update it or make it presentable. What a joke.

I don't blame him at all. He took a LOT of shit from people, some who claimed to be 'his brothers', yet did the right thing and was silent. Granted, it'd be nice for him to have those with him share the blame, but saying nothing is better than saying something you'll regret. JSS seems to be playing it the same way from what I can tell and I think that both Augeri and JSS come off looking better for it than Journey. Jeez, even Perry is doing what Auger and JSS did. Be silent if there's nothing positive to say. I commend Augeri and JSS especially because I know if I was in their shoes, I'd be ALL OVER JOURNEY'S ASS IN THE PRESS.

He probably has moved on... he has no obligation to anyone but his family now and I would imagine that is where his focus is at this point in his life.

I communicated with Steve last week. He has indeed moved on and seems to be in good spirits. Very nice man, I might add.

He absolutely knows about my involvement in TG. He knew that when I was with Neal in AC. His cousin works on the road crew. At the time, he questioned Neal about associating with "the guy who is responsible for my career being in crisis"(or something to that extent. He was somewhat mystified at the time. Over time, when I realized the real assholes were Neal and Friga, I wrote Steve an email. He got back to me and has forgiven and forgotten. He definitely is a class act. Here's something to chew on. Trevor's passing brought replies from all the singers and none of the band. THAT should give a clue to you as to who is responsible for this band's disaster.

That is cool to know! It's amazing how often the words "classy" and "Steve Augeri" come up in the same sentence, no matter who I am talking to.

Deano -thanks for the update on Augeri. It would be great to hear his side of the story. I'm sure in hindsight he would have done things differently. My sympathies on the loss of your son. I have 3 children of my own and there is nothing more important. Have a happy holiday!

Refresh and let me know if it's still too big. It should only be 200x170, which is comparable with most others here... :?:
