Limited Edition Journey Wine | Arrival W/Augeri Autograph

Got an email from my buddy Dennis at De La Montaya Winery yesterday about the release of a new wine collaboration with Journey and DLM Wine...This is the same winery that released the "Generations" wine for charity last year. This year, Dennis tells me they got Steve Augeri to add his autograph to the new release for 2007, "Arrival," a 2005 Alexander Valley Cabernet. Dennis and Journey collaborate to release these bottles to donate the proceeds to the Bay Area Make A Wish Foundation. An autographed bottle goes for $100...

Check it out at www.dlmwine.com! (Hey, who's the guy singing on the "About Us" Page?... 8) )

As my mama would always say, "Ain't" isn't in the dictionary!! (Though it probably is by now)

I'd be willing to bet those labels were signed a while ago. But you never know....

He told me in his email, "This year we got Steve A to sign on," so I think it was pretty recent. Last year's vintage had JSS' signature on them.

That's interesting and cool of Steve to do. Because we have heard absolutely nothing from him I've always thought there might be a lot of bad blood between him and various members of the band.

I've no idea about that, but I would imagine he's probably still friends with Dennis and willing to help out for a charity..

If he did a Journey through the years set, I'd wager all the members would be willing to get involved on sigs.

What have they got but time on their hands anyway now.

How's the wine btw?

Smooth with a little kick? :D

I think JC has a song playing on the home page - Larry was talking about the version of "He Ain't Heavy" on the "About Us" page...

Anyhoo, I've also updated my blog with a link to purchase at their site if anyone wants...

Hey everyone and Merry Christmas. I received my shipment of wine today, one signed and guest who's signature was on the label..... Mr. Steve Perry himself. Along with Neal, Jon, Ross, and Steve A's'. I had to look at that several times and ask a friend to confirm. Now I know why one bottle limit and $100.00 per bottle.

I would get your's while you can.

Have a wonderul holiday. :D

I'm really thinking that couldn't happen -- are you absolutely sure it's not Augeri's signature? I can't imagine Steve signing anything labeled "Arrival".

Here's Dennis' exact words:

Hope you get a chance to visit us next year.
We did another charity wine this year with Journey and we got Steve A to sign if you know any Fans of Steve A have them check out our website. www.dlmwine.com I think there is a link on the Journey Website also. We are also working on a wine with the Eddie Money Band.
Best to you guys.
Dennis and Tina

No mention of Perry, almost positive you may be misreading your label, if you can, take a pic and let us have a look?

Hell find one with SP's autograph on it and I would pay $1,000.00 a bottle.

I second that. Sound's like a scam to me also. If it's not original ink where the bottles were actually touched by the person signing, I doubt they will be worth anything. At least in my opinion that is. I really hate to say this but.....I'm pretty sure this is a con by our dear friend Susie, because I have some really close friends in the Philippines who told me about this product a few weeks back. They heard of it from someone back here in the US and mentioned some of the alias names that you know who uses. So if you want to take your chance and you got those dead presidents to spend, go for it, but just proceed with caution. :!: Notice how many grammar and spelling errors are within that one post from BeachHo? Could of been posted by some sweaty fat dude with aluminum teeth in Nigeria for all we know. As my father used to say when I would screw up when I was a kid: "Use your head for more then just growing hair Goddamit!"

I don't think so... Read the thread from the beginning. Jeremey posted the website and mentioned the news came from a friend of his at the winery, and that they did this previously with/Journey as well. The phone #'s on their website if anyone wants to call to verify. The new poster could have been a lurker who just felt they had something to offer to this thread, or it could be someone stirring up trouble -- either way, their info is surely mistaken.

oh no the wine is definitly genuine. But if this person really does have a SP signiture on their wine then they have been coned and/or trying to do it to other people.

I just didn't see where the new poster was trying to do anything other than encourage purchasing the wine from the original vendor. Bad info, bad advice, but not trying to scam anyone themselves.

Seems they are vinters
buying crops of grapes & doing there thing
Cool as they can have a vast variety.
Interesting idea
Journey wine but at $100 a bottle I wouldn't know whether to drink it or dab it behind my ears...

I can agree with that....the wine is lagit but that one poster is not. About what to do with a $100.00 bottle of wine, well not sure myself. At least if your going to guy something to drink, may as well buy something that will take you for a real spin. Wine won't do that but there are plenty of other things that could for that amount of money. Now real signatures could get those bottles sold like wildfire. I'm so not into the reproduction signature stuff though. Authentic signatures is pretty much the only thing that would get me to purchase consumables at unreasonably high prices. But then again, if the proceeds are going to a cause like the cancer society, if you got the money, then go for it. $100.00 will get you a bottle of wine, some reproduction signatures and a good feeling that you made a donation.
