My family is travelling to Florida and we've stopped for the night just south of Nashville, Tennessee. Anyone here from this area? Just curious...

Fortunately, the hotel we're at has a great wireless connection.

pretty good area there but i'm not too familiar with it because i'm a hundred fifty miles to the west in memphis,tennessee.try to steer clear of west tennessee because its a poor area of the state and there have been a rash of car break ins so don't leave any valuable stuff in your vehicle.most of the lower rate motels tend to have the undesirable element lurking so watch out for those types too.i know i might sound sort of jaded but its just because of the area i am from.

Terrific football program in Knoxville.....Whiskey....smokey mountains....nashville and memphis...about all I know.

I'm in Chattanooga.

I live in Dyersburg, but work in Memphis. Both about 3 hours away-ERIC

Unfortunately Mike is right...I was born raised and still live just outside of Memphis. The eastern part of the state is definitely the place to visit.

That is indeed where we stayed.

Tennessee is a great place. Grew up (partly) in East Tennessee, Johnson City, Bristol, Gatlinburg... LOVE Tennessee. Gatlinburg is like heaven on earth mixed with a taste of Vegas. Don't go there if you're prone to gambling or eloping.

We'll be stopping in the Atlanta area on the way back this time, so we won't be stopping there. Seemed like a decent town, though.
