what year was your favorite with journey releasing music?

was it 1981 when journey was touring for escape.especially the houston shows....
maybe '80 on the departure tour on gregg rollie's last tour....
or '79 when steve smith first joined...

1978
The first time I heard the opening strains of Lights and then the rest of Infinity.
The music stood apart from all other music, Styx, ELO, Boston, etc., that I was listening to at the time.
I was first among my friends to own Infinity and so for a short time I felt like I was in on a secret.

I have to say 1984, because that is when I "discovered" Journey and bought the entire back catalog and "Street Talk". Then I'd wait three years for "Raised On Radio" and then ten years for TBF! : D I always jump on the bandwagon (no pun intended) when the ride is almost over.
I do love the early albums with Rolie, when Steve would hit the stratosphere.
(Didn't discover REO until 1987. Discovered Matchbox 20 with "Mad Season" and was amazed it didn't take me ten years after their breakup to actually like them!)
