An Awful Lot of Arnel

One has to wonder, with all the Arnel Fawning, and frankly, all the Arnel worship, I for one wonder if Neal will be pissed and run him like he did Jeff? Don't laugh, it has happened before.
That would be great. AP is so good that after every carnival county sing along, the press heaps tons of praise on Arnel, leaving Neal pissed. I am sure they will have a lock on his mouth, but a press review is not subject to the Journey PR machine.

If Neal does that shit again for any reason other than the return of Steve Perry then I am finished with them.

Been wondering a little if the perceived fan insult ('grow up'!) wouldn't cause the bosses to clamp down on him. Although he was probably right in thinking that, he probably shouldn't have said it to a reporter. I just bet that they put a filter of sorts on him and insist that he turn down future interviews. Or at least, they coach him on all the right cliches & positive spin to use.
later~

Awww, I see now. You simply weren't close and or attached to a few lead singers like the rest of us. I am inclined to say, "No way will Neal do it again, but seriously, chances or odds are 3-1 he will."

I find it absolutely laughable that people go "If Neal does this just one more time, I'm through with Journey"
Makes me think about Caddyshack 2....(deano, don't kill me on the paraphrase here)
Jackie Mason goes "If you say, just one more woyd, I'm gonna kill ya!"
"Scoundrel!"
"That wasn't the woyd!"
"Dirtbag!"
"That wasn't the woyd, either!"
"Loser!"
"That wasn't the woyd, either!"
How many times will history repeat itself before Journey fans finally figure out this is a sham...and has been for years.

No, but enough is enough and the revolving door of singers is getting to be comical. I am still a Journey fan and completely on board but one more time would be too much even for those of us who try to remain loyal(unless it is for SP)

I have never said that or thought that at anytime in the past with Journey. But I am saying it now. I'll be honest and I hope Neal sees this-I have friends ask all the time "whats the deal with the singers coming and going?" Its become embarassing when I have to answer these questions since I am the local die hard Journey fan with those who know me. I try to make excuses that make sense but thats getting harder and harder. Then the Sopranos thing happens and everyone is saying "Are they going on the road?" I never could answer with the truth-they dont have a lead singer right now... because I'm going to be asked "Didnt they fire one and hire a new one last year???" Woah. I think this particular reply has gotten some things off my chest!!!

Frank, don't have to worry about me getting on you regarding Caddyshack 2. That is worse than Smokey 2 or Major League 2. Couldn't watch it.
Come on, Caddyshack had an all star cast.
Bill Murray, Ted Knight, Chevy Chase, and Rodney. That is tough to beat.

Yeah, definitely hard to beat. Love the story about Ted Knight. Someone left a big nasty steamer in Ted Knight's trailer....
Knight was convinced it was Rodney...and went storming off to Chase about it, laying out the acusation. Knight died believing Dangerfield was the one that crapped in his trailer.
Turns out it was Chevy Chase the whole time!

Ah, dude I'm not gettin on ya about that. It's just want ya said reminded me of it.
I do agree that it's embarassing.
Music is like sports. You get and develop an identity with your 'music' and it becomes something that you identify with and something people identify with you....and then, for Journey to pull what they pulled, you sorta dont want to walk out of the house without your wife's panty hose on your head...because it's flippin embarassing.

Bullshit. You'd support them if Osama Bin Laden was the new singer.

Funny, Lula and I were just discussing this. We don't want to find him, yet. He keeps a certain political party active. Bush needs bin Laden alive.
So long to this thread.

Yep, America knows exactly were he is. As they did with Hussien until they didnt need him.

Hey Gator, I did notice the guns on Tebow, however...
You see ESPNU this morning? Urban Meyer is leaning towards a 2 QB system next year. Huh? You have the Heisman trophy winner. Doesn't make sense. Unless Tebow is planning on playing Sunday's next year.

No it wasn't. If Schon murdered a 5 year old wearing a clown suit, you'd still be 1st in line for tickets.

Hard to disagree on that one. The most powerful nation on the planet can't find some towel head in a cave? WTF?

Yeah, I read in the Gainesville Sun that Urban was gonna do that. He is concerned about keeping Tebow healthy under the current system but our running game was pretty much non-existant and our backup QB's were too young and not catching on so fast. Meyer wants to go with the same system they used in 2006 with Chris Leak and TT. Tebow's backup, Cameron Newton is finally catching on and is actually bigger and stronger than Tebow. He should get a lot of touches next year but Tebow should still have another Heisman campaign. It comes down to the team being too reliant on Tebow and when he goes down, so shall the Gators. Our RB's should be a lot better next season because of that guy from USC that transferred to us, Emmanuel Moody. What do you know about him? I know he has impressed a lot of folks at practice here. Tebow has said that he plans on staying his last 2 years, now whether thats remains fact is uncertain but he is definetly gonna be back in 2008!

Moody was one of 9 tailbacks that can all play Sunday's. USC is so fucking good. I hate them, despise them, but I still think they are the absolute best team in the Nation. Their two losses were in conference play. What does that tell you?
Anyway, Moody was pissed because he was 7th on the depth chart.

What's laughable,is that people are pointing the finger at Neal and or Jon for the departure(no pun intended) of Jeff.. I doubt it was the spotlight Neal was worried about..Didn't Perry always have the spotlight.I never saw any problems..I'm pretty sure its because they decided after they announced him as new lead singer that management wanted them to stick with the legacy sound. Its very possible, the guys still wanted Jeff in the band but the label would drop them.. Or we are all off base and something went down between them that we will never know about..

Oh yes, it was all Jeff's fault.

for some reason i remember the story as : the label was interested in the jss version of the band because of the crowd reaction at the live shows... the label wanted jeff..
and..
as far as management... azoff was even thinking about flying out to meet jeff and see him perform about july last year , because everyone was talking him up so much.. just mowing over the fans and the critics.. even neal mentioned that the crowd was reacting to jeff like he was perry in the 80's or something..
