A poll probably already flogged to death. As I was actually doing a other poll, "which line is the best". But it was abit tricky puting all the years and members in there, I am a fan, but not a loon. that's a tough poll to do.

Which era do you prefer? Rolie or Cain era.

You just can't beat the Rolie days. They were so much more of a rock band then. The Rolie/Perry duets are my favorite from that era.

Yeah I am starting to feel the same, as I get a bit older, I tend to like the earlier stuff more and more you know. Though I love Cain era, but the Rolie days are just insane - amazing music. Though I have not voted in this poll.

I like them both for different reasons, but I have to go with Rollie because he is a much better musician than Cain in my opinion.

This is an easy one for me, as its results oriented. Journey became HUGE when Jonathan Cain was added to the mix, so that is where my vote goes. I just think the songwriting chemistry between Cain and Perry was unmatched. We'll never know if that chemistry could have existed between Perry and Rolie, but we know for sure that there was something special between Cain and Perry! Not to mention, without Cain, there would be no "Faithfully", the greatest ballad ever written!

Well that's right, this band really put themselves on the map when Cain joined, that's undisputed. The chemistry between Schon, Perry, Cain is some of the best if not the best Ive ever witnessed, and you would be hard pressed to find a better trio, maybe equal, but not better. I know you don't like Open Arms though John, I actually love that tune, I know it's over done, but I also love Faithfully as well, that ballad from Frontiers is a monster classic in every way.

Oates, Messina, Garfunkel and Creme was actually, although short-lived, the best incarnation of the band.
