Doh. I should have known to look for an NHL topic in a titled football thread. NFL threads are the only ones I skip over on this board.

Sorry bud, it is my way of saying the NFL sucks compared hockey, and the football fans here are too close minded to give pucks a chance. It's not like I am trying to sell them fucking soccer or some retarded shit like that!

I wish more felt your passion for the greatest game on the planet. I've lived and breathed this since I could walk, cheering on my Lafleur-led Habs.

Dude, you are in Toronto. It is against Ontario law to be a Habs fan isn't it?

No...I was in Toronto last week for a few job workshops. I live in NY, about an hour south of Montreal.
Speaking of Toronto, why are all the signs in English AND French?...There are more Chinese people in Toronto than Francophones
Just discovered this game's on the CBC..bye bye Doc.

The Crapitals are a team I can't root for and they are closest. We used to have the AHL and I went to the games all the time. It's a great live sport.

Actually the Clippers and the Skipjacks. The Bandits were here for a year or two though. Impressed by your knowledge of that one.

Why can't you root for them?...Sure they suck, but they're improving. As you know, Ovechkin is one of the top guns in the league. I read Japers blog everyday (Caps fan blog) to help stay atop in my fantasy hockey money leagues.

They don't market towards Baltimore despite being close by. I just have no allegiance.

Vancouver used to have a bunch of Orientals bumping around. It was free immigration for awhile, and all you needed was money to come to Vancouver. The true Vancouverite became a bit pissed at the influx of Ornamentals. It got so bad that Vancouver was called Hongcouver. Well, the Orientals who came had a change of heart, and most scampered back home. There is a Chinese area of Vancouver. In fact there is Indian, Japanese, Chines etc; that place in my honest opnion, is without a doubt, the most gorgeous city on Earth. Nothing comes close. I could post pics that would take your breath away.

You will see Vancouver at it's best in the 2010 Olympics.

Come on Dean...The NFL is the best league on the planet! There is nobody even a close second! I have always thought hockey was a great sport, and have never quite understood why some dopes have trouble following the puck. It's the most moronic argument that I've EVER heard against hockey! I've always viewed hockey as football on skates. That said, the NHL will NEVER compete with the NFL, in this, or any other lifetime!

Unfortunately, hockey has always been a VERY regional sport. People in the original six cities live and breathe hockey, but in many other cities, it's really driven by the success of the team or how many people move to a "new" NHL city, from an established NHL city. I've always hoped that hockey would catch on, across the country, but I don't believe that it ever will. You are an anomaly in L.A. being a hockey fanatic. In places like Boston, Chicago, Detroit, and all across Canada, kids grow up playing "pond hockey", all winter long. It's simply a way of life. When you live in a place like Miami...the only time those fuckers ever see ice is in their cocktail, so it's a bit difficult for them to ever even understand the concept of hockey!
