I did some searching, and you can listen to songs from The Zoo's new album by creating a free account at http://www.imeem.com
Then, go to this link to listen to the the song Pain In My Heart:
http://deep08rose17.imeem.com/music/aar ... _my_heart/

If you don't create an account, you only get a 30 second clip of the song.

Don't have time to listen to the full clip, but I will say, what I heard here sounds really good. Sensitive sophisticated vocal that sounds like it could compliment Neal's guitar nicely. I'm cautiously optimistic now, after hearing the disappointing "it's over", but I emphasize cautiously.

Well hello kmjrr and welcome to the forum.

Could you please locate and post any links to videos or audio of Arnel from the 80's? I'd like to see what else is out there. Thanks

Thanks CalJams. I've been reading the forum for a long time, joined a year ago but have posted only a few times.
I didn't find anything from the 80s. I just came across this and thought others might be interested in a recently recorded song with decent quality sound. That site has other songs from the same CD out there too, just search for "Zoology" on that site.

I've been listening to this guy sing all night on youtube. Just do a search for "the zoo" on there and their recordings will come up. He does a bang-up job as a Journey vocalist, though I hope Journey treats him a little better than they have their past vocalists.

And their version of Survivor's The Search Is Over? Arnel's the closest to sounding like Jimi since.... Jimi. Amazing guy. He even does Heart's Alone. Check them out, definitely.

Weak song, just a load of mush that you'd forget 10 seconds after you heard it.
Lets hope he can sound better when he has the backing of Schon/Cains songwritings skills and the Journey sound.

In contrast, when Augeri was hired for the band I remmber going out and listening to Tall Stories and thinking - yea this guy stands out on his own as being worthy.

Ill keep and open mind until I hear him do fresh material with Journey , but this Zoo clip certainly doesnt do that for me.

Thanks. I've checked out much of the Zoo stuff but I was interested to see if any of the previous performances were video taped and on the net to check out. I missed the last few bands that Arnel was fronting, but I was hoping I could see what I missed. I wanted to see him in the Most W@anted band and perhaps some early 90's AMO Band. If you find any, please post them. Thanks
