Read if you like, lock it if need be, but as some like to say, "just my .02"

Nothing makes any of us come here outside of interest and curiosity, and the many that I seem to read a lot of bashing and flack from. The whole name-calling with Friga and Fro (only one makes sense to me) is rediculous and has become as old as people talking about Perry returning. Granted, the majority (if not all) of us are bothered (I know, some hold harsher sentiments) by what's happened with this band (not going into any details, judgements, etc). I guess simply put, I grow tiresome of the BS that floats around here and feel bad for Andrew having to deal with it. Basically, I'm glad to see this band still going despite what people think, I'm willing to give Arnel a chance and everyone else, and continue on into the future for as long as it keeps going.

hey nick.. you have to back away from it man.. lots of old time fans here.. most folks want to see the band succeed..but hate what they have appeared to have done to other members that the band had sold to us..

I don't hate Neal and Jon persay, but I DO hate what they have done. They need to simply stick to what they know best, which isn't business or, apparently, marriages. Neal is still the best guitar player there is IMO. :roll:

Nothing wrong with a few colorful nicknames and some criticism when it's warranted, but to rip to shreds a guy that has yet to perform one gig with the band, and photo shop shit only a fifth garder would find funny is just plain counter productive to what the site's owner wants. Hell, do that all you want...elsewhere.

I don't get into it that much, but definitely agree that the band has made many decisions that have flat-out ticked off and isolated many of their fans. The one guy I can't toss a stone at though is Arnel... He's just another guy about to live his dream, and I'm 100% down with that.

There really isn't much negative on here at all. Your post is about 2 months late. People are moving on and the tone of this forum is moving with them.

we are really all ok, pianoman. we take turns getting a burr under our saddle and then we move on.

when all is said and done, don't ya just love getting in the car and hearing Wheel In The Sky on the radio? it is always awesome. yea, we have cds, dvds, iPods etc, but random Journey air time in the middle of a drive is just plain cool.

Anyway, I've learned that everyone has their opinion, it would be a dull world if we all agreed, and so it's best just to ignore those you don't agree with and move on to the next thread. It's not worth fighting over, no opinions are going to be changed either way.

Majority on here now are all just waiting for new Journey material. Its all dyed down now pretty much, particually compared to what it was like a few months ago. Even some of the most anti Journey (well not anti Journey, but anti Friga an Fros decision making) are just waiting to see what happens next.

And the name calling is pretty harmless, "Fro" as in Afro, and "Friga" as that is (or was?) Cains last name. They themselves laugh about there melodic rock names - according to Jeremy.

I think what Deano is driving at is not who knows who better (although Deano most likely does know them better), but whether or not the stated attitude that the band takes as per jeremey is truly acurate. You have to be very careful making statements like that, as it makes it seem like Jeremey made them. All Jeremey discussed was what he heard on his audition. For all you (or anyone else knows) what Jeremey heard/saw from friga and frobag, was very much a staged effort to the benefit of an outsider (in this case, jeremey).

As far as the band not caring? That's horseshite. For years, they tried to shut down back talk, because they hated the fact that fans actually spoke their mind. As for recent events over the past year, Neal clearly hated some of the more acurate depictions of his character here (and elsewhere)....he just didn't publicize his reaction to alot of people.

On to one other point....to the original poster. You've been here for 26 posts. In all honesty, you really expect anyone to sit here, read what you said and go "Gee, maybe he's right, we should stop being so mean to Fucka and Fro". :roll:

Seriously, a good deal of us sweated blood and tears for this band and we're still pissed at them for driving it into the shitter. I can speak for quite a few people on this one, in that the anger has not subsided. We just don't like being angry all the time...so a great deal of us have simply washed our hands of journey to the tune of 90-95%. Frankly, if I spend more than 5% of my online time about journey, it's alot. The assholes that still remain in this shitty band (and the idiots that have subsequently joined to help Fucka and Fro drive this jalopey into the shithole) don't deserve my energy...

However, when I (or others that see this as I do) feel that negative energy towards the pricks in san francisco, be warned that no-one will change my (or the others) resolve to that end. You or others can't affect such a change....so really, is even bringing it up worth the effort? WTF cares whether or not some people hate Fucka, Fro or the hirelings? If you still love them and are willing to pay $60+ a head to see the 'product' they will throw out on stage, I'm not going to stop you. However, don't expect any of us to listen to you and stop posting our feelings when you don't want to read negative thoughts on these pricks....this is a two way street.

Now that sounds a lot more accurate of what I've thought about how Friga and Fro feel about character depictions. Guess I gave them too much benefit of the doubt. I keep hoping something will show that they may still be sane because their decisions certainly don't indicate it, but alas, doesn't materialize. :roll:

I didn't intend to throw this into this topic, but I might as well since it's crossed my mind: "Why are people so hellbent on Steve Perry's return to the band when he's made it perfectly clear (many times over mind you) that the Journey chapter of his life is over and he's content with what he's doing?" To get back on track a little bit, I didn't agree with the departure of Steve Augeri either (and for all the nay-sayers, I don't believe that tapegate was used especially since the band released an official statement to Classic Rock magazine as well as here denying the bogus claim), but I supported the band's judgement with their decision. Going back to all the fire that's burning on this forum (involving altered views, rediculous profile images, etc.), we've all seen various changes with this band and have managed to support them as long as the band keeps going, so what makes this time any different? For what it's worth, I checked out the clips of Jeremy's performances on some of the tunes and although the sound quality due to the audience wasn't great, I still couldn't believe my ears; personally I think he'd be great for the job (and even though many will consider this choice of words to be shooting myself in the foot) as long as his voice sustains itself as it seems too in those videos and he's up for the job. Will we ever know the real truth as to what's happened within this band, most likely not. Realistically what I care about is that they still go out having fun and putting on decent shows for the generations that go to see them because I'm left asking myself (being shy of 21 years old), "What am I going to do when this band and many similar bands of the time throw in the towel? Will I have to settle for listening to the recordings, or will someone else come along to carry on the torch?" It's a weak plea, but please stop this hate and negativity that's going on. Has anyone stopped in the midst of all this to wonder why the band hasn't posted or stated anything? Maybe it's because they themselves are tired of all this and are waiting in hopes that things will cool down (the sooner the better). No matter who you want to point fingers at with this, it's obviously struck the band and the fans, a trial by fire (sorry, but it seemed to fit). Sorry to get cheesy or sappy on you, but I think it's about time that we look toward tomorrow and face whatever's going to happen.
