Thoughts? LTS was done as part of a giant medley of classics that Dream Theater would do in concert back in the mid-Nineties, along with favorites from Kansas, Elton John, Led Zeppelin, Queen, and Deep Purple.

My thoughts...
I like it. We have the other covers around here somewhere my husband tells me. I'll check them out. Thanks!

That medley was incredible..I really like Dream Theater..The lead singer is incredible..Could you see this guy in Journey? I think he holds some tunes too long in LTS..

James LaBrie has more of a "metal" style, but I'd love to see what would happen if he joined up with Journey. His voice fits the Journey "style" a little more than Geoff Tate does, who almost joined in '98, but still has a remarkable range and versatility.
His voice was best on 1994's "Awake" album, a variety of styles and tones displayed on that particular record.

I have seen DT live twice, 2004, & 2007. They are one of the best live bands around

My thoughts? I like it a lot, IMO, LaBrie's voice has the Journey sound. Not so sure about his look 'tho, I know it's the voice that counts; but the look and stage presence is relevent in some ways.

Thanks for the link. That was pretty good, but his sound is a lot like JSS, in my opinion. THey should have just kept him in the band.

Dream Theater is a great band.. all talented beyond normal , great writers.. ...BUT that band can get on my nerves like a crying baby...... so much stuff going on ,, drummer hitting everything ,in time mind you..but after listening to them for about 30 min i have to find something simple to listen too..
dream theater can just be too much too often on too many songs in a row.. i know when i start grinding my teeth , its time to take them off .. ..

That's why "Images and Words" is one of my favorite albums of all-time. They show plenty of chops on that album as well as balancing it with something a little more simple.

I have seen DT @ least a handful of times and have NEVER been disappointed. No glitz, no fancy light show...just a fantastic *musical* show. Yeah there's a lot going on but that's what keeps my interest. Images & Words is my favorite too.

In my opinion Images & Words is one of the greatest rock albums of all time in any genre.

Will YouTube become the next audition platform? Or is it already?

I couldn't listen to more than a minute of that. Not for me, I'm afraid....

Yeah, the LTS portion of that medley is the worst part, in my opinion.
