I'd be 100% behind James LaBrie singing lead for Journey. His singing on LTS was spot-on with little strain, and he's extremely versatile. More of a punchy "metallic" overall style, incredible range, loads of credibility.

I'd love it, really.

Holy shit. That would be unbelievable. LaBrie is our generation's Ronnie James. Please make it happen!

Im a huge Dream Theater fan, i dont want him to leave DT for JRNY, is is on it last leg, i was behind the untill Soto was canned. Plus DT is playing bigger show all the time, and each album get bigger and bigger all the time. Long live DT. Dean and Neal need to find adiffrent band. What about Soul SirkUS again?

I agree with you. I prefer DT's style of music along with his vocals.

I'm a HUGE Dream Theater fan but LaBrie's voice is too often annoying for my tastes. That being said, his voice has held up remarkably well over the years.

I haven't heard much of DT's music. However based on the LTS cover I would definitely buy it.

Some potential.

I also heard the lead singer of Queensryche (whose name eludes me at the moment -- Geoff Tate?) was considered to join during the 90s.

Yeah, there was something going around that he contributed to walking away from the edge and some others.

That was one of Journey's finest ballads.

Why would he want to leave a GREAT band to do Steve Perry covers???

Dream Theatre is AWESOME!!

Journey is now???????

'Images and Words' start there for your first Dream Theatre CD.

I have 7 of their CD's and love em all!!!

If nothing else, a side project with LaBrie/Schon/Castronovo would be INTENSE.

For the bassist get Mendoza or Myung or Levin, and for keys I suggest any of Dream Theater's guys (Sherinian, Moore, Rudess)

Naaa I wouldn't enjoy it. As good as LaBrie, and Tate are - they are not Journey front men. That's the problem, since Perry left - everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon, and you can tell all those singers admire Perry so much, but... sadly there is only one Perry, and in his prime - non of these guys can emulate the man, he was just too good.

Like I said, Journey will probably have at least 1 or 2 more singers and it will always be a tribute to Perry and the early Journey. No matter what, it's just the way it is.
