Serious question. To me it seems there is like 1 perhaps 2 people with about 20 user names posting here supporting Arnel.

Ready to give him a good chance. I'm not anticipating being disappointed.

I have no idea how he will do with the band since we haven't heard anything yet or what new material they will come up with and how his contributions will affect the outcome....so I have a wait and hear attitude. The band made their choice....when they put out something new then the public will make theirs....pretty simple to me, you'll either like the music or you won't....like the people in the band or you don't.....all personal preference and nothing to argue about.

Bullshit Phyllis.

He's good. You know it, I know it, Ed knows it, as bad as he hates to admit it. Deano knows it, the whole fucking planet knows he's good. With all of that said, I'm going to sidle right up next to you and still take that wait and see attitude.

Didn't say I don't think he's good...from what I've heard I think he's got a great voice....just dont know how everything will come together with the band yet, of course.....so....I might be on the fence but its not because of BS......my pasture is clean!.......y'all are welcome to snuggle up with me on the rail if you'd like...it is winter and there's no sense being cold while we wait.

...right and if each "user name" votes and posts about it, how is the poll going to show a true representation of your question? 20 yeses by the same person is still 20 yeses, so how will you be able to tell?
I voted 'no' because Journey has really just made me not care. Daffy Duck might as well be their singer. They turned me off.

Perhaps a little honesty. Also if people are doing that, it's a bid in desperation isn't it. On the other hand, if there is a Poll about Steve Perry, or JSS - you don't see one person with 20 user names voting, why? well it is Steve Perry and JSS, people will just vote for them!

they don't need people cheating for them, as they have millions who support them.
So if what you say is true, then it's just really pathetic that Arnel would only get votes that way isn't it. So a little honesty, because you are not just cheating us, you are also cheating Arnel Pineda.

Why would anyone not be a fan of Arnel? The man can sing, no one can argue that.

Am I a fan of Arnel? Yes, I like what I've heard from him as far as original music goes. Am I fan of Arnel in Journey? That remains to be seen, but I'm excited about what I think he's bringing to the table.

He sings alright but I'm not into hearing a tribute band that charges way to much, that's what they've truned into in my eyes.Heck I can hear any tribute band at The Little Fox Theater In Redwood city.Frontiers or who ever for at least half the price, and a hell of a show!

I voted yes as AP has a great voice and I would want to see him with any band and I have only used one user name on all Journey boards.
Now AP in Journey is still a wait and see though with that voice I'm definately optimistic.

Then what the fuck good is a poll going to do with the above knowledge that some dumb slut in west palm beach is pushing 20 different usernames? You know damn well that all 20 of the usernames are going to vote.
That would indicate to me that such a poll would end up not being too valid.
That's like Hillary Clinton and Rudy Guliani getting predicted to win their party's nominations through a poll where Bill Clinton and George W Bush are the only ones in the polling population that can vote more than once!

Arnel

The word "fan" is a bit too strong for me.Arnel has a phenomenal voice and I love his singing - so yes, from that point of view I could say I am becoming a fan.
However,I haven't heard him with Journey yet - so I'm waiting for that to be able to make a final decision. My guess is that he's going to be good in Journey.
I'm not sure what to vote,tho...It's a 1 & 3 combo for me.

btw, I'm a staunch *NO* on this. Arnel may be the second fucking coming of Steve Perry for all I anyone cares...but the magic this band once had is lost...completely and utterly lost. I don't even think Perry can bring it back right now...although he's the only one in my book that has a snowballs chance.

I'll second that. I'm waiting to actually hear him do something with the band before I make a decision. But I'm excited to see what's going to happen.

I agree. Journey without Steve Perry is simply a good Steve Perry Tribute band in my book. Are "The Doors" really "The Doors" without Jim Morrison? Would the "Rolling Stones" still be the "Rolling Stones" without Mick Jagger? Would the Elvis band really be the Elvis band with an Elvis impersonator as the frontman?
It's one thing when the new frontman brings a totally different sound and new material such as what happened with Van Halen with Sammy Hagar or AC/DC with Brian Johnson. However, when you replace a singer with a soundalike, how can anyone truly call the copycat singer anything more than an impersonator?
That said, would I pay to see the new Steve Perry Tribute Band with Arnel singing? I haven't ruled it out. But if it's more that $40.00 a ticket, forget it. That would be too much to pay to see a good tribute band.
