Pick your favorite from 1982...
'82 isn't one of my favorite years for music but I guess I'll take "Screaming for Vengeance" by Judas Priest. "Nebraska" by Springsteen is also a very good album and highly underrated.

Agreed on Bloodstone. Great tune.

VERY good year for music, and just a few years after I learned to rock again. Can't pick between them, but the first ASIA album is a classic. At 10am tomorrow, I'm buying ASIA tickets for an upcoming show... It will be the first time I've seen them live, and can't wait!

Jesus...that's a rough list! I think I was probably partial to Cougar (back when that was actually still his name). I thought "American Fool" has a Springsteen kind of a feel to it, so that worked for me!
John from Boston

Dave - great ideas for polls. May I create one for my favorite year, 1981? Or have you already begun working on it? I have it ready to go...
EDIT - Damn, I see you already created it...

Quite how they managed to follow British Steel with such a classic...but they did just that with SFV.

"British Steel" was followed by that dud of an album, "Point of Entry" in 1981.

Of course. It was that dud I forgot about it! That's hangover's for you.
Mind you, I saw them on the Point of Entry tour where they had all amps etc covered and two hydraulic rams appearing with Tipton and Downing either side as a loop of the guitar pattern from the intro of Solar Angels blasted from the PA. Very effective at the time.
Gotta say 'Heading Out To The Highway' is always one of my 'live' faves from that album.

The live version of that track from "Priest!...Live" is one of my favorite all-time tunes.

Yes, its a belter. The whole Priest...Live! release was generally pretty good in fairness. Loved Unleashed In The East but it was more like 'Unleashed In The Studio' by the time it was finished.

DAMN good point! That would've had my vote HANDS DOWN! This was the last great album of KISS's career. And a drum sound from the depths of hell!!! It sounded like Carr was going to kick a hole right through my speakers!
I went with an odd choice- Billy Joel's NYLON CURTAIN. It's a spectacular piece of work, and I think, the last great album of his career. He was coming off a divorce from his first wife, and the music is just seething with angst. Contains some GREAT tracks like "Pressure" , "A ROOM OF YOUR OWN" "GOODNIGHT SAIGON" and my favorite, "SHE'S RIGHT ON TIME" Well worth checking out, if you never have.

Yeah, I was afraid to speak up. We have to remember that this was BEFORE Michael Jackson was a one-man-freak-show (or at least we didn't know it then). This is a great album and I like it!
So there!
