Sorry i may be doing a few topics about my findings tonight. Just listening to Mark Frees first solo album "Long way from love". He has an amazing voice and this is a classic AOR album. Amazing stuff people. Ive only found this guy after i was given his CD, and its great.

Great interview by Andrew here:

For those who dont know Mark had a sex change and she now goes by the name Marcie.

Any other fans i wonder?

I never listened to Free, but when I first heard of that whole sex change story, I lost all interest in checking them out. To each his/her own, I guess! :P

However, come to think of it, Mark Free also sang for a band called "Unruly Child", that later recorded w/fellow Hurricaners Kelly Hansen and Jay Schellen on vox and drums. I bought their album "Waiting For The Sun" (Hansen/Schellen), and loved it! I believe the guitar player's name was Bruce Gordy, and I really enjoyed his work on that disc. I need to get another copy of that album, as I don't have it anymore...

Not me. Too weird.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

I have an mp3 of a demo he did called "Naked Desire". Jesse's Powertrip did a version of it, but even the very raw demo that I have is AMAZING!

Thanks, and very cool song, dude! Stylistically, It would have gone very well on either the Rocky IV or Cobra soundtracks (of which I had both and played the heck out of back then). Dude (or dudette) has a great voice.

Mark (Marcie) Free also sang for King Kobra. I have those, Long Way from Love (get the 2-CD version with the live stuff which I think was from The Gods performance), and the Unruly Child (it was the first album).

Great vocalist!

I just found this song on my desktop and am listening to it again -- really good song! Thanks again for that... I'm going to have to check this guy out, and am reading very good things about the 1st Unruly Child CD -- looking for a copy now.

I still don't know about Marcie, but I have ordered the first Unruly Child CD, and it wasn't cheap... :P Hope it lives up to the hype, because the reviews are incredible.
