OT:Girls Night Out

Your wife decides to go out with her friends drinking and dancing....
You're okay with it, because you get to watch sports and play on the Internet all night...
You hear her stumble into bed around 4 and laugh knowing she's going to have a monster hangover...
You wake up next morning and go outside to the family Volvo, which she used last night....
You sigh in relief because it's all in one piece....
You circle the car looking for dents and find none....

But .... Wait a minute...

No. Most in Michigan wouldn't get caught near a foreign car. I'm a GM guy, just leased my first Chrysler (Town & Country) and am having trouble dealing with that. :D

Sing this to the Spiderman theme... It's from John Boy & Billy (your Southern wife should know of 'em)

"Married man, married man, drives around in a mini-van. Got a wife, and some kids, he's about to flip his lid. Wherever there's a screw up, you'll find the married man!"

 Funny, but my wife's not southern. It's my relatives that are in NC.
I have no problem with the mini-van stigma. I still have my sports car. She's put away for the winter, but she'll be back when all the salt's washed away. :D

'95 Pontiac Formula that I special ordered with a 6 spd manual and had delivered to me. :D

6 speed manual... droooool... Formulas are pretty sweet... but I'm more into the late model restoration types. Enjoy that mini-van in though! 0 to 60 in "Daddy, she hit me!" "He started it!!" "I have to pee!" "Are we there yet?!?!"

Well, Rick... no need for PM. Can I just borrow Rhiannon's if I adjust them a bit?

"Daddy, hit me..." "We ARE there..." (I'm bypassing the peeing one if no one minds  )

Fahk yeah!! Learned how to drive on a '74 Jeep CJ-7, 3 in the column. When I was 11!! Moved on to an '88 Scrambler, 4 in the floor. My current car is a stick, and my Jeep was a 6-speed too! I refuse to drive a fucking automatic. I can also operate heavy machinery too! No half ton diesel dually stands a chance against me! Nor rig, nor tanker, nor bulldozer, nor tractor.

I'm cool like that. 8)

I taught my little sister how to drive a stick on the 6 speed. She had ordered a Saab with a stick and had to learn in a hurry. She picked it up really quick. Sticks are fine in the summer, but all my other vehicles are automatics. So much easier here in the winter. I'd probably be right with you down there though.

Ehh... not so sure I agree with you on that. I mean, Virginia has some BRUTAL ice storms and maybe it's just my passion for clutch speaking, but I feel like I have more traction and control in a stick. For one thing, we have mountains... and downhill roads plus ice equal "Awww HELL!" The benefit to having a stick is whereas in an automatic, it will continue to roll in the highest gear possible you can downshift a stick to choke back the motor and give you a little advantage. Plus, as long as you have a front or four wheel drive and know what the hell you're doing, it's about the same.
