Well, let's be completely honest here. They will play Vegas, then all fly down to LA and pro tool the livin shit out of it. I wouldn't be surprised if they play "live" in the studio to get the best results.
There will be nothing raw and live about it, but o well, like Neal says, "everybody's doin it."
I agree with Nora. Who cares?

Would have been cool for Def Leppard and Journey to put out a live DVD together of the last tour when they kicked ass man. Styx and Reo Speedwagon did that with Arch Allies. I'm not sure what label Journey is with, but if they could get on the same label as Leppard and do that it would rock.

you aint kidding,, but the 3 or 4 boots that came from it are great enough.. DL's tour manager must have been bigger than J's.. co-headline? we got a little tiny stage with very few lighting effects..
DL actually had a drum riser... yea.. no foolin... a drum riser.. neal didnt jam with his "ole pal" v. campbell much either..

The Dallas show was lipped, and since the cover was blown off of that, that DVD won't ever see the light of day.

We're never going to see any other merchandise from the Augeri years. At the end of the day, the lifetime story of this band will show the Augeri years as an exercise in touring limbo. It's not financially viable to put out anything else from the Augeri years. Nobody cares and they know it.
The only DVD's of Journey's I'm interested in are the following:
Any and all live performances with Perry.
Remastering the Perry year studio recordings in 5.1 surround.
Can't really speak to what will or won't be with Arnel because I haven't heard anything yet. But if I had to guess, I'd say it will be more bad english material with stronger vocals. Nothing I'd run out and buy.

They should have went out with the Leps again (my favorite band). That was a good show.

Rick Allen hasn't had an arm for 24 years!

Hey man, at least the Leps were loyal to their friend. From what I've read here tonight, the Journey guys would drop someone for losing a fingernail dude. Still a great band though. Surprised at al the lineup changes though.

I don't care what they do. I would also think if and when it will be their same old game and nothing really live. At this point it is you can fool some of the people some of the time, but Journey concert fans ALL OF THE TIME !

This so called dvd will be taped live in front of a private group, who will be
given the tickets for attending a convention. Hmmmm, let's see, would that be considered a "fan base"? I dont think so. Cant figure them taping a concert in front of people who may not like the music or have never really heard of them. Wait, maybe thats the whole idea.
Jobernz (Raul) must be pinata's new PR man.

Reading this reminded me of the first time I saw SA. I was in Detroit and the first like 4-5- maybe 6 rows were full of people who were (what one might describe as) senior citizens ~ easily 60 and up. There was a guy on the end who had to have been @ least 75 with his walker. I remember thinking to myself.....who the HELL are these people and WTF are they doing here??? They all sat very politely through the show....but it was just ~ weird.

Herbie mentioned all the "plants" in the audience for the Vegas DVD. Calculated enthusiam to portray them as relevent or exciting.

The scenario you're describing could very well happen on the next tour, once they hit all the local county fairs and nursing homes.
Soon, you will see peoples with walkers and canes not only front row, but also on stage as well.

Is it me or is a great deal of this 'Arnel' promotion have a very cheezy, underground (but in a bad way) slop about it? I mean, wtf puts a graphic on youtube to promote something that no one gives a shit about?
Sounds like Arnel's manager needs to take a few intro classes in marketing...he's doing a real bang up job so far!

Poor Arnel, will never get a break, even when people admit he's the better vocalist for the job of "singing" it's always about something else.

The nursing home circuit......hmmm...now there's a venue they haven't explored yet! Hell anything for a dollar, right?

The Dallas DVD I want to see is the one from 1980. OOPS, I mean Houston.

didn't anyone notice that this person joined youtube on 12/15/07 and the only friend they have is the gomez guy from The Zoo? youtube works like myspace, you request, they add. all the fishing youtubes were added in the last 24 hours. seems to me this could be a scam by someone booted from the crock. all the youtubes are of pictures and info we already saw. they could have just added the text of the taping of the dvd to the remax thing to get it talked about on here. just a thought.

This is the dumbest thing I think I've read in awhile. Couldn't be true. Why would ANY band that is or was as big as a band like Journey film a small private corporate job for a live dvd? Might as well print on the packaging "This is what we're reduced to... enjoy!"
I'm with Maria - something weird about that youtube post.
