Impressive! Nice sized arenas. Rush gets it. That's why they have a reputable fanbase.

I can't believe they are coming back - that's awesome! :D

They were so good in St. Paul this past year but I didn't have good seats.

Wednesday in Austin? My pet peeve about living in Central Texas.

But Dallas is on Friday. That would work. :D

They're at Smirnoff in Dallas. I swore after the '06 Journey concert that I'd never, ever go to that shit place again. Of course I've said that how many times now?

Why they don't book Reunion Arena makes no sense. It's sitting there empty, doing nothing. It holds 20,000 just like Smirnoff. I'm guessing since it's an indoor arena that it would cost more to book.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

I'm gonna get to one of these shows, if not more. I'm hoping to get to Dallas or Austin for one. If I hit Dallas...you fuckers up there better have a beer or 30 waiting on me.

My seats in St. Paul were even worse...I'm hoping to get as close as I can with the presale.

Rush In Reno!

Postby annie89509 » Sun Jan 20, 2008 5:33 am

In my youth, I was never into their kind of music. But after watching Rush in Rio a few months ago, they'll be playing right here downtown on a Saturday night, no excuse not to take the plunge! Better start shopping for some good earplugs  !

I'll let everyone know if I was the oldest one in the audience, or maybe the youngest among old hippies!

Well, there's not many of them on this board and the ones who are here are probably at a Star Trek convention or something like that.

Why scroll down and visit other threads when it's easier to just click the first one that shows up? ;)

I'm going to SanAntonio for sure. Possibly Ok too. Rush is on fire lately!!!

Tex, it's in Austin, not SA. Are you going to Dallas? I'm thinking of putting in for a day off on that Friday. Would be great to meet some MR people there.

I'm hitting Noblesville again for sure, and maybe the United Center too. I've never seen a concert there. Basketball yes, but not a concert.

I live a mile from the venue and, as loud as Rush is, could probably hear the show fairly well from my front yard. :D

We're going to be there. My husband loves Rush, so it was no trouble talking him into it. Can you recommend a really close hotel to the venue for the out-of-towners?

The roads around the venue are totally different now. The road that used to go past the main entrance and had the exits onto I-69 was completely re-done. The exits are now off 146th Street instead of that road. The road now goes through the back side of what will be a shopping center/government office complex. Anyway, it'll make the traffic easier to navigate for those of us who live in the area and aren't attending the show. I hope they don't sell the property for other commercial development but I figure that'll probably happen anyway.

Yeah, I heard they were going to be re-doing the roads around the venue. I'm anxious to check them out.

If you prepare right and get a prior copy of the setlist and get familiar with those songs you will be amazed. I guarantee it.

I sure will try, thanks for the tip. Must say I don't know(never heard of) any one of their songs! They never were on the radio stations I would listen to. But I was quite impressed by their performance and the crowd energy in that live dvd I have.
