There is a RATT concert being advertised at the House of Blues on Sunset Blvd. on April 18th, and it claims to include all remaining originals (including Juan Croucier). If I lived in Hollywood, there is nothing that could stop me from attending this show... :P

Dude, they're doing a new record and tour this summer. I'm there.

Fully expecting to be assaulted by the peanut gallery now...yes, I am a HUGE Ratt fan. Put that in your corn cob pipe and smoke it.

I haven't heard anything about Juan being involved, though -- that's the kicker. I'm looking into it, though.

If Andrew won't make you a Hair Band forum, I will just take issues here into my own hands. I am tired of not getting help. I will take this motherfucker over like you have never seen before.

HAHAHA! I KNEW once I saw the word "Ratt" in a topic title Deano would be on that like... uh.... Deano would be on a couch sipping a brew and watching a hockey game.

At least I haven't been bashed on for my random-ass OT band topics. :D

I listened to the whole shabam again over the weekend... got to focus on the music a little more, and can say with zero guilt that George Lynch is quite the guitarist.

The Dokken CD is better than a lot of other CDs I listen to frequently, and get this... on "Shuffle" a Dokken song came up like three times over the past couple days... haven't skipped it once... twice I didn't even notice it was Dokken until I thought, "Who did this sweet song again?" and looked at the name. 8)

I loved Ratt back in the day, but have no desire to see them reunite. One of those bands I prefer to remember in their prime.

Well, spoke too soon, I guess. Turns out the advertisement for that gig was a misprint -- no Juan. Well........ At least I'm not missing anything! :P

At least something good came from this... We probably made at least 200 more Dokken fans, and a few more RATT fans as well. :P You know Juan was the original bass player in Dokken (and was also in Quiet Riot w/Randy Rhoades). Speaking of Q.R., Frankie Banali has been made offers to reunite the Paul Shortino line-up of Q.R., but has recently stated that there will be no more live incarnations of Q.R. -- he wants to let it be history to honor Kevin.

I like a few songs by Ratt but I'm not a big fan.

As far as Deano's ridiculous "no talent" crack, I don't know about the other guys in the band but Warren DeMartini is a pretty good guitarist.

There were several 80's acts that I kinda just grew out of... Bands like RATT and Cinderella (maybe the ones with the screamier vocal style) were two of them. I do still like those bands, but it's a rare day indeed that I ever pop in one of their CD's. Bands that stuck with me and I never tired of were the smoother-voiced singers (who could get rough, but just weren't screamy overall). Dokken, Winger, FireHouse, etc...

The best era of music EVER. Ratt, Steelheart, Dokken, Firehouse, Great White, Tuff, Bon Jovi - just so MANY great bands. Total melodic metal!

I saw Ratt back in Sept and I was pretty sure Juan was with them...hmmmm. All I had was my photo camera and the pictures aren't clear enough for me to tell.

They sounded GREAT btw...

Definitely not Juan -- he declined to participate. Robbie Crane remained on bass...

Yes, last I'd heard. The lineup is Pearcy/DeMartini/Blotzer/Corabi/Crane.

I've seen them several times. Last time was a horrendous thunderstorm and they put us all up under the canopy at Concrete. hahahahaha The five foot stretch from where they stored them, to the stage was uncovered. Needless to say, they were some pretty SOAKED grampas up there once they started. Ha! They rocked though. I'm trying to remember if everyone was involved in that one. I seem to recall the promoter making a big to-do over the gig. Just can't remember.
They were down this way last year. Didn't make that show, sadly (shut the fuck up Deano), as the drive was a bit far to be toting the mini.

Ripper, I gotta say...I saw RATT 3 times back in the day, and they were without a doubt one of the worst live bands I saw in that era. One of the last times I caught them was with BON JOVI and Y AND T, and both of those bands were SO much better, it was actually painful for me to stay through the whole show!
Perhaps I just caught them on THREE bad nights, but I doubt it. Now don't get me wrong- I LOVED em on vinyl...I just don't think they could cut it live. Crap, AUTOGRAPH sounded better than they did!

Now Y and T...THERE'S a band for ya!

This bring back memories of seeing Stephen Pearcy a few years ago -- small outdoor venue, and it began raining cats and freaking dogs... Luckily there was plenty of free beer in the beer tent! :P

It kept getting delayed and delayed, and the staff kept giving conflicting info on where the band was. Finally, turned out they cancelled the show due to the rain, but the band was inside just chilling out, so I got to hang with them for a while. It was my first time to meet Stephen, and he was impressed when I showed him my backstage pass from their first Nitronic gig at the Key Club a few years before (the pass was given to me after the show by my old roommate, who was in the band "13-A" opening for them). One of Steve's guitar players, Eric, was also from my old roomie's band, so we had plenty to talk about.

Shame we didn't actually get to see them play that night, and it turned out I was one of the only people who had actually paid for a ticket. It was poorly advertised, and many tickets were given away by a local station. Did I get a refund? Hell no! They offered to honor it at the rescheduled date, but that never happened...
