OT - Box sets and/or essential collections
Posted: Fri Jan 25, 2008 10:07 amI was roaming Wal-Mart's CD selection at 3am (finished work early and wasn't tired) last night. Looking over the selection I wondered what major artist/band (in terms of sales) doesn't have a proper box set or essential collection. Some such as:
Styx - has the "Gold" album but no rarities and I felt the song selection was not the best.
Madonna - no box set and the 2 GH were not as good as they should have been
Toto - Though not big in the US anymore, I'm surprised they haven't done a better collection than "Past to Present"
Van Halen - Volume 1 didn't cover enough songs and the song order and live songs on "Best of Both Worlds" was horrible.
Is there anyone else due for a proper 3 disc set with a few rarities or at least a 2 disc essential?
On the over represented side:
Asia - 4 GH/collections of the 3 John Wetton era CDs
Chicago - God, is there a band with more compilations than this group? I love the band but how many packages can you put together.
