JSS on Dokken's "Point Of No Return"

Ok, couldn't help myself... last Dokken thread of the night. Special thanks to mega-Dokkaholic *Laura for pointing out the new Dokken websites containing 6 new song samples. I'm jamming on "Point Of No Return", in which JSS's voice is quite prominent on backing vocals. Awesome track!

Thanks Rip!

The most melodic sounding Dokken album since "Up From The Ashes" at least from the clips. Don has lost a slight bit on vox, but he's still good and the material sounds much more like vintage Dokken! :D

That song is actually pretty good. Cool guitars, good vocals, and yes, you can hear Jeff on the kick ass background vox. 8)

I noticed Don's voice being kind of done, but did like the track. Hey, I'm on board if it makes people happy. How old is Don now?

Hence my new signature.... :P Yes, it's definitely noticeable, and a shame. He doesn't take care of his voice, and I started noticing an uncharacteristic hoarseness to it on that "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" song from Monster Ballads X-Mas. Just read a new interview tonight, where he said his voice gave out right before they were going to record, and it delayed the album.

You are going to give the new CD a great review, though, I know. :P (said with a little pass of my hand, using the Dokk Side of The Force on ya)

I just looked him up - he was born in 1953, so he's 54. Not exactly a dinosaur! It's hard for me to tell if he's lost anything in the voice department because I just heard him for the first time yesterday and those samples sounded good to me!
