Personally, I don't pirate music. I sure hope there is no leak. This is how artists make their living and I respect their wishes. I hope they play at least one new song in Vegas.

This is what doomed Arrival so I hope it doesn't happen. I want to hear the new music more than anything but I'll wait until they release.

The fact that he's "assembling various running orders" makes me think that they're not ready to be distributed yet. I read that to say that he's just hoping that when it is ready, it doesn't leak. I still don't think the album is ready to go. I'm predicting with the late start to the summer tour (rumored to be July 4th) the album will be out in June/July.

I don't think he's accusing anyone specific per se. He knows he wouldn't put it in a position to leak himself, but he can't speak for others and he's just hoping it won't go the route of Arrival.

Doesn't Arnel have his own manager apart from Azoff? Could be Kevin is concerned that someone in Arnel's camp might be contemplating a leak for misguided reasons (ie. promoting Arnel to the nay sayers so positive word of mouth spreads amongst the fan base, etc.).

I think the band should post 30 second clips of their favorite tracks to whet our whistles. Might delay such misguided altruism if any exists.

Yeah but that didn't work too good for Arrival. Journey isn't in the limelight anymore so people would have to be interested in the mega-publicity for it to work.

The leaked track is what initiates interest thereby leading to buzz erego publicity. If it doesn't work, it's because it wasn't implemented correctly. But a strong marketing tool nonetheless.

I think it is politics. "hoping against hope" to me sounds like, it's been leaked and now we have to make it look like we didn't do it.

What doomed Arrival was that it sucked, and it then it leaked. If the material is as good as pretty much every artist says it is, then it will help Journey tremendously.

If they were smart they would leak one themselves and create the buzz. Either that or put up some clips of Arnel doing the classics like Foreigner did. What is worse, not getting a sample and having a horrible first listen or whetting the whistle with a hot new track and waiting for more?

Help me out people, please explain to me why a leaked copy would do the band any good. I have not a clue as to what they would benefit from that happening. The only ones I see benefitting would be the individual or individuals who got the leaked copy and then turned around and burned a few thousand copies of it to sell in the black market. The only other thing I'm thinking is if the leaked copy is poor audio quality, giving us just enough of it to make out the words and melody with some instruments. We hear it and like it, then perhaps we'd be interested to get the quality product. But then again, I will purchase at least one of Journey's CD's most likely before even hearing any of the tracks first. Another possibility here is that Captain Caveman is just mentioning the word "leaked" just to throw some hype out. I know if that rumor was to hit the Philippines, that a leaked copy is out, everybody and their mongoloid brother over there would be jumping completely through their asses trying to find out who's got it and how they could get a copy for themselves.

One thing for certain, if leaked copies start showing up in P.I. you can get a pretty good idea where it came from. I'm not suggesting Arnel himself, but someone in his camp. Remember crab mentality runs amuk in them parts of the world.

Yeah, I saw that ninja kitty on youtube some time back. I love the av also, cute how they play. It's the ghost of Morris the Cat opening up a friendly can of whip-ass on the kitty in training. Someone also has the computer generated punching kitty av, it's cute also.

So apparantly Caveman burns CDs of the material in different running order and sends them to people for input???? No Fucking Way. If they want to play with tracklisting they could simply load it up on the computer and playlist it in different order. Something fishy fer sure.

I hope the band adds samples or very low bit-rate streams of the new music on their website. It is a fact that the consumers want to hear the music (for FREE) before considering a purchase. Make it exclusive to the site and you will drive traffic as well.
