Social workers shocked by case of 10-year-old mother

CINCINNATI (AP) — A 10-year-old girl in the Cincinnati area has given birth in a case that has shocked social workers because the girl is so young.

The birth of the baby at University Hospital in November has set off an investigation.
The baby has been placed in a foster home, and the mother — who is now 11 — is living with a relative.

Prosecutors suspect that the boyfriend of the 11-year-old’s mother is the father of the baby. Police from suburban Lockland are interviewing 40-year-old Michael Chaffer in a Columbus jail where he’s been held on unrelated charges

Man Rides Lawn Mower to Liquor Store

ADRIAN, Mich. — A man was charged with drunken driving after going through two bottles of wine, cutting through a snowstorm on his lawn mower and riding down the center of the street to reach a liquor store, authorities said.

Police found Frank Kozumplik, 49, homeward bound on a John Deere tractor Saturday night, toting four bottles of wine in a paper bag, officials said.

He told officers that his wife had taken their car to work, and that the mower was the only way he could reach the store, two miles from home.

His blood alcohol level was 2 1/2 times Michigan's legal driving limit of 0.08 percent, police told WLEN-FM. They arrested him and confiscated the mower.

Kozumplik declined to comment Monday night.

PORT ORCHARD, Wash. -- A man who is believed to have gotten a 10-year-old girl pregnant has been charged with first-degree child rape.

Jeremy Daniel Cockerham, 28, of east Bremerton, pleaded innocent Tuesday in Kitsap County Superior Court and remained in jail with bail set at $250,000. His trial was set for mid-August.

Cockerham is the girl's stepfather, officials told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

According to documents filed by prosecutors in court, police were alerted in March by state Child Protective Services workers who learned that the girl was pregnant. She initially told detectives she was impregnated by a 10-year-old boy, but police Sgt. Kevin Crane says investigators never believed that account.

"We investigated that and we determined with a high probability that that wasn't even possible," Crane said.

Last month the girl gave birth, and DNA tests from a laboratory in North Carolina indicated with a 99.99 percent probability Cockerham is the father and ruled out the boy, who also was tested, police said. Further DNA tests at a state crime laboratory are pending.

The girl, now 11, is living with the baby boy and her mother.

BRUSSELS - A ten-year-old girl from Charleroi gave birth to a baby last year. The father was 13.

"The pregnancy was a big surprise to the girl and her mother," says doctor Robert Chef from Charleroi. "The child came to me with unexplained abdominal pain. She had also put on weight. Her mother had even put her on a diet for a while but that had little effect. When we examined her it turned out she was nine months pregnant. The child was carrying a full term baby."

What surprised the doctor the most was that the 10-year-old really looked her age. "Some girls look like a teenager of 15 or 16 at that age. But not this girl."

Still the delivery went smoothly. The young mother was given special treatment however. She was not admitted to the regular maternity ward lest this raise too many curious questions. She was given a bed in the children's ward.

"The father of the baby came to visit her there as well. Many pregnancies in young girls are the result of incest. But that was not at all the case here. The father was a schoolmate of 13. A young guy as well."

Robert Chef says the parents of the girl did not respond angrily. "The grandmother immediately took charge of the baby. She said she would raise it as her own child."

Yesterday the medical weekly De Huisarts reported that 57 Belgian 10-year-olds had been prescribed a birth control pill last year. Some for medical reasons, but others for actual birth control.

How sickening. Put the guy in the general population and let the inmates take care of his child-raping ass.

My daughter will be 8 in less than 2 weeks. I guess I'd better have "the talk" with her before she's 10. I'm NOT looking forward to that, and I was hoping to put it off until she is 11 or 12. I guess that wouldn't be a good idea!

When she's 28 she'll have a kid that is already eligible to vote and serve their country and when they
get old they can be in the old folks' home together, she'll be 90 and the kid will be 80.
They'll probably be like siblings. :?:

I agree...two things I can't stand in life are these twisted fuckers and those who are cruel to animals.

In the NY state system most of these molesters/rapists are put into protective custody almost immediately, as they are scared to death of what could happen to them in general pop and the state feels they must protect them, as their job is "care and custody".

One of many things that could happen to them include: When any inmate enters the system after conviction they have to get their hair buzzed off on the first day (unless they are parole violators). If by some chance the inmate barber knows the dude in his chair is a pedophile, he might just shave his eyebrows off as well...making him look freakishly feminine.
